  • Publication number: 20230206919
Abstract: An ordering system for automated processing of customer orders for a retail establishment. In some embodiments, an ordering device is disposed at an ordering location such as outside a building of the retail establishment. The ordering device is configured to generate a first audio stream responsive to an interaction with an on-site customer adjacent the ordering device. An on-site controller device includes an artificial intelligence engine configured to generate content responsive to the first audio stream. The artificial intelligence engine combines the generated content with a second audio stream from an on-site employee to transmit a seamless third audio stream, via the ordering device, to the on-site customer. The generated content may be further tailored based on one or more traits of the customer as detected by a sensor.

  • Patent number: 11594223
Abstract: An ordering system can be positioned partially, or completely, outside in a retail environment with an ordering device located outside of a building on a site. The ordering device receiving a first audio stream concurrently with a second audio stream from an employee and proceeds to capture the first audio stream with a first port of an on-site computing device while capturing the second audio stream with a second port of the on-site computing device. A customer strategy can be executed with an intelligence module of the on-site computing device connected to the ordering device with the on-site customer strategy directing automated interactions with a first on-site customer to compile a retail order. The employee may communicate directly with the intelligence module via the second port without interrupting the first audio stream.

  • Patent number: 10592706
Abstract: An improved speech-based/natural language point-of-sale customer order system which is useful for any business that interacts with customers through speech or sound. Despite the advances in speech recognition, currently available voice ordering interfaces have proven to be unintuitive and lack reliability. Voice recognition has so far proven to be inefficient in retail contexts, and therefore voice recognition has so far achieved a low level of usage penetration in the retail sector. The present invention facilitates the automated operation of the ordering function of a drive-through restaurant, fast food restaurant or other business establishment by replacing an employee or other means of capturing order data with an ordering system employing a highly accurate speech recognition component that is able to be trained to recognize a wide vocabulary of words, and associate tones and other metadata in a manner not previously achieved in speech-to-text systems.
