Abstract: A bundle tying machine which operates with a conveyor chain that carries longitudinally spaced pairs of bundle holding plates through a curvilinear loading section and unloading section and a straight bundle tying section with means mounting the plates for relative movement and with means responsive to the presence of bundles between the plates for freeing the bundle tying mechanism to effect tying of the bundle in the tying section and including means for varying the tension on the twine at various stages during operation of the machine, and multiple needles for simultaneously tying the bundle with a plurality of twines in a single path.
