  • Publication number: 20110217953
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for managing push data transfers is provided whereby in one implementation at least one push data server is situated on a network between a plurality of content servers and a plurality of computing devices. The push data server is configured to only perform a maximum number of concurrent data transfers of content between the content servers and the plurality of computing devices. The push data server is configured to deem that a particular push data transfer has been completed even if no express acknowledgment of such completion is ever received at the push data server, thereby reducing the likelihood of failure of push data transfers due to a misperception that the maximum number of concurrent data transfers being obtained.

  • Publication number: 20110219132
Abstract: A method to a method, system and apparatus for configuring a device for interaction with a server is provided. An intermediation infrastructure mediates registration traffic between any of a plurality of application servers hosting a server-side application and any of a plurality of computing devices executing a client-side application that corresponds to the server-side application. The intermediation infrastructure receives account registration information, including an account identifier and a server identifier, from an application server that is hosting an account. Any one of the computing devices can access the intermediation infrastructure using the account identifier and thereby determine the server identifier and thereafter direct communications with the application server can be effected.

  • Publication number: 20110131297
Abstract: There are provided methods, systems, devices and computer program products for reliable delivery of content packages to a client device. Push delivery of content packages is combined with pull delivery when a push delivery fails. When a client device participates in a push delivery but fails to complete, a recommendation for corrective action may be notified and, following such corrective action, the client device pulls delivery. Respective content listings are maintained by server and client device for reconciliation to prompt pull delivery by the client device.

  • Publication number: 20110130125
Abstract: There are provided methods, systems, devices and computer program products for distributing mobile content, on behalf of mobile content providers, to mobile devices. A central mobile content delivery system and a central mobile content delivery store system are provided. Interfaces permit a mobile content provider to author and publish mobile content in association with subscription data. Content offers may be defined from such data and offered to mobile device user subscribers such as in a catalog system. Content is delivered on behalf of the content providers in accordance with the subscriptions concluded by the store system. Subscriptions may relate to single packages of mobile content or a plurality of packages (e.g. in a series of publications) such as previously or subsequently published mobile content. Subscriptions are provided to the central delivery system to assign and deliver mobile content to devices.
