  • Patent number: 11799983
Abstract: A process of ranking internet-of-things (IoT) data based on IoT analytics services. In operation, the IoT gateway receives IoT data captured by an IoT device and transmits the IoT data to IoT analytics servers each providing a different IoT analytics service. The IoT gateway receives acknowledgments including data rankings from IoT analytics servers. Each of the acknowledgments include a respective one of the data rankings indicating an importance of the IoT data as an input to the IoT analytics service provided by a respective one of the IoT analytics servers. The IoT gateway assigns an aggregated data ranking to the IoT data based on the data rankings included in the acknowledgments received from the IoT analytics servers. The IoT gateway then transmits, to the IoT device, an electronic notification including the aggregated data ranking assigned to the IoT data.

  • Patent number: 11417064
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying data at an incident scene is provided herein. During operation an officer will be assigned to a particular incident having an identified “incident type”. Individuals at the incident scene are identified via facial recognition and criminal histories for all recognized individuals are obtained. The incident type will be used to determine criminal histories relevant to the incident type. Only the criminal histories of those individuals at the incident scene that are relevant to the incident type will be displayed (ideally displayed proximate to the identified individuals).

  • Patent number: 11178518
Abstract: Techniques for message acknowledgement when messaging system is unavailable are provided. A controller may receive a group text including a message that requires acknowledgement. The group text is directed to at least one controller. A message identification may be extracted from the message. The message identification may be associated with the message that requires acknowledgement. A talkgroup identifier may be computed based in part on the message identification. A radio associated with the controller may join a talkgroup that is associated with the talkgroup identifier. A floor control request may be sent via the radio on the talkgroup associated with the talkgroup identifier. The floor control request may serve as an acknowledgement of receipt of the message.

  • Patent number: 11172440
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for enabling wired sensors to be coupled to a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) is provided. A first wired device that is coupled to the LPWAN gateway device via a first wired medium may be identified at a LPWAN gateway device. A first virtual node may be instantiated at the LPWAN gateway device, the first virtual node assigned to provide protocol conversion between the LPWAN and the first wired device. A request to join the LPWAN as a node that does not require Radio Frequency (RF) management may be transmitted from the first virtual node at the LPWAN gateway.

  • Publication number: 20210311987
Abstract: A database of repeated words/phrases will be built along with the user context experienced when the word was repeated (or asked to be repeated). A virtual partner will determine a user's context, and then avoid words that were repeated for users in similar contexts. Substitute words may be provided for those often-repeated words/phrases.

  • Publication number: 20210074132
Abstract: Methods for detecting faults in a siren-based alert system include receiving, by a siren device from a central siren controller, an activation command. The activation command identifies a neighbor siren device that is to be activated. Audible alerts output by the neighbor siren device include a unique identifying characteristic associated with the neighbor siren device. The method includes determining that the unique identifying characteristic is not detectable by the siren device and, in response, taking corrective action. The corrective action includes the siren device sending a siren fault notification to the central siren controller indicating a failure to detect the unique identifying characteristic and may also include modifying the audible alert output by the siren device to compensate for the faulty siren device. The siren device may send a siren fault notification to the central siren controller if an unexpected audible alert, such as a potential false alarm, is detected.

  • Publication number: 20200389523
Abstract: Techniques for real time actuation in low power wide area network internet of things networks are provided. In one aspect, an internet of thing (IoT) node including a local event sensing circuit and operating in a low power mode, may receive an indication of a local event. The indication of the local event may be sent to a control center, wherein the control center may validate that the local event corresponds to an in-progress incident. An indication may be received from the control center to switch the IoT node from a low power mode to a high power mode when the local event corresponds to an in-progress incident. The IoT node may switch to the high power mode, wherein the high power mode allows for real time communication with the IoT node.
