  • Publication number: 20230071097
Abstract: Some embodiments include hollow body club heads having reinforced club head faces. In one example, the club face comprises a reinforcement element such as a looped rib positioned on a rear surface of the club face to provide reinforcement. The club head defines a closed interior cavity, where the reinforcement is located within the closed interior cavity. The hollow body club head further comprises a rear including a plurality of walls to allow the club head to easily bend during a golf ball impact. The combination of the hollow body design and the reinforcement element reinforces the club head while permitting the club face to bend. Other embodiments of related club heads and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230027166
Abstract: Embodiments of wood-type club heads comprising one or more components are described herein. The wood-type club head comprises a first, metallic component, and a second, non-metallic component. The first component comprises the load bearing structure that forms the striking face, and portions of the crown, the heel, the toe, and the sole. The second component comprises a lightweight structure that wraps around the first component to form portions of the crown, the heel, the toe, and the sole. The first component comprises mass pads and receives removable weights to adjust the weight properties of the club head. The two-component design allows for additional discretionary mass redistribution to improve center of gravity location and moment of inertia.

  • Publication number: 20230017480
Abstract: Described herein is a tour iron having a golf club head with a faceplate, a body, and an insert. A sole, top rail, rear, and the faceplate enclose a cavity within the body. The cavity can house the insert. The insert can comprise a low-density material, allowing weight to be concentrated around the peripheral edge of the golf club head. The insert can further comprise multiple materials to improve sound and feel. The rear of the golf club head has an inflection seam running from the heel to the toe. The golf club head has an upper portion, above the inflection seam and a lower portion below the inflection seam. The lower portion can have a depth greater that the upper portion depth. The faceplate, body, and insert can be formed of different materials having different densities. The golf club head has a comparatively high moment of inertia and a low center of gravity. Other embodiments and methods are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20220362639
Abstract: Some embodiments include club heads having reinforced club head faces. In one example, the club head comprises a variable face thickness with thickened and thinned regions. The face includes a thinned perimeter region positioned near a perimeter of the face, and a thickened central region positioned over a geometric center of the face. The club head further comprises a 360 undercut that extends along the entire perimeter of the face. The combination of the thinned perimeter region, thickened central region, and 360 undercut reinforces the club head while permitting the face to bend. Other embodiments of related club heads and methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220161108
Abstract: Embodiments of multi-component putters comprising an upper portion and a lower portion are described herein. The upper portion is formed from a first material having a first density and the lower portion is formed from a second material having a second density. The first density is less than the second density. The upper portion is affixed to the lower portion via an adhesive or a combination of adhesives and interlocking geometry. The multi-component putter design provides increased forgiveness and moment of inertia compared to a putter formed from a single material.
