  • Publication number: 20240378971
Abstract: A system and method include determining, by a point of sale (POS) device, that new data is available at the POS device, in response to determining that new data is available, sending the new data to a cloud server, in response to determining that the new data is successfully transmitted to the cloud server, generating a synchronization request indicating availability of new data at the cloud server, identifying one or more kitchen display systems (KDS) to send the synchronization request to, and sending the synchronization request to each of the identified KDS. Each identified KDS retrieves the new data from the cloud server in response to receiving the synchronization request, and at least one of the KDS performs an action based on the new data in response to retrieving the new data. Each KDS follows a similar procedure when new data for the POS device is available at the KDS.

  • Patent number: 11710126
Abstract: A device and associated methods for entering a PIN via tapping are disclosed. The device can be configured to determine a number of taps provided by a PIN holder on a touch sensor in representation of a PIN digit and to store the number of taps as a digit in a sequence that represents the PIN. Indications for interaction with the device can be provided to PIN holders in the form of auditory cues. A visually impaired PIN holder may be able to complete a PIN entry process by following the indications for interaction, tapping on a touch sensor a number of times equal to the value of the digit of the PIN to be entered, and performing gestures mapped to commands for the device.

  • Publication number: 20230169481
Abstract: A device includes a display and one or more processors that cause a speaker associated with the device to serially recite a plurality of auditory cues. Each of the plurality of auditory cues corresponds to one of a set of characters, and each recitation of the plurality of auditory cues occurs at a predetermined time period. The one or more processors also receive a touch input on the display from a user during the recitation of the plurality of auditory cues, determine a character from the set of characters that corresponds to the touch input based on the predetermined time period, and store the character as a value in a sequence of user-specific information.
