  • Patent number: 4977674
Abstract: A device for supplying power to a plurality of power driven plant trimming tools is formed by a wheeled vehicle having a pair of driving wheels mounted on a vehicle frame. At least one steered wheel is rotatably mounted on the vehicle frame and is pivotal about a vertical axis for steering the vehicle. An engine is supported by the vehicle frame, and a power source is driven by the engine for supplying power to the power driven plant trimming tools. A telescopic arm and connector supporting structure, having a pair of telescopic arms is provided. A plurality of telescopic sections form each telescopic arm. Each telescopic section is constructed as a lattice. A hollow tube forms a part of each lattice and is interconnected with hollow tubes forming a part of other lattices of the telescopic arm.

  • Patent number: 4949461
Abstract: A trimmer device is disclosed which comprises cutting blades which are to be used for a trimming operation. A hollow air hose, through which pressurized fluid is supplied to the trimmer device, is provided. First and second selectively openable and closable valves are connected with one another and are disposed between the cutting blades and the hollow air hose. The trimmer device is formed with a passage therein which connects the hollow air hose to the first selectively openable and closable valve, the second selectively openable and closable valve, and the cutting blades. Handles, by which an operator can manually open and close each of the first and second selectively openable and closable valves independently, are pivotally mounted on the trimmer device. Each of the first and second selectively openable and closable valves are biased into a closed position prior to the trimming operation.

  • Patent number: 4867131
Abstract: This invention relates to a combined heating dish and storage container comprising an outer container formed of insulating material for low heat conduction. The outer container includes a first recess centrally formed in a surface of the outer container and a second recess formed in the surface and disposed at one lateral side of the first recess. A water filled bag is received within the first recess, and a layer of dehydrated lime provided within the first recess in an amount sufficient to cover the water filled bag. A food containing package is placed on the layer of dehydrated lime and received within the first recess. A ripcord for releasing water from the water filled bag so that the water is released and allowed to flow into the layer of lime is provided. The lime undergoes an exothermic reaction as it is exposed to the water to heat food within the food containing package.

  • Patent number: 4860454
Abstract: A self-propelled, self-steered vehicle for carrying a source of pressurized fluid to power and operate a plurality of manually controlled trimming tools for trimming plants in a cultivated field. The vehicle may have one of two steering devices. One steering device includes a steering lever connected to a steered wheel carrier. The steering lever includes a cable guiding element which cooperates with a guiding cable passing therethrough to constantly orient the steering lever towards an anchored end of the cable so that the wheeled vehicle automatically follows the entire unwound length of the guiding cable. Another steering device includes feelers extending outwardly of the vehicle to contact fixed objects to cause, by cooperation of the feelers with sprockets, steered wheels of the vehicle to turn away from a fixed object contacted by a feeler. Additionally, pressurized fluid from the pressurized fluid source is passed through moisture trapping baffles fitted in the supporting frame of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4694577
Abstract: A self-propelled, self-steered vehicle for carrying a source of pressurized fluid to power and operate a plurality of manually controlled trimming tools for trimming plants in a cultivated field. The vehicle has a steering device that includes a pilot wheel that follows a pre-formed furrow, and that causes movement of a steered wheel to follow lateral deviations of the furrow and thereby steer the unit therealong. The vehicle draws a trailer that carries a supporting structure including a vertically telescopic boom and a pair of transversely extending telescopic arms that support a plurality of coiled branch conduits that communicate with an air compressor carried by the vehicle and that terminate in suitable connectors. The conduits provide compressed air to the respective trimming tools at transversely spaced positions relative to the vehicle, to permit a plurality of trimmer tool operators to simultaneously trim a plurality of plants or trees.

  • Patent number: 4347880
Abstract: A tree trimmer has a pruning head adapted to be operated by a reciprocable rod to perform a cutting action and to open up. A double acting compressed air operated linear thrustor causes an actuating rod to recipricate. A standpipe, which is composed of a series of tubes detachably and rigidly screwed together, is interposed between a casing of the thrustor and the pruning head. A solid plug is formed at one end of each tube with a guide hole. A series of connecting rods detachably and rigidly screwed together pass through the guide holes. The series of connecting rods are connected at one end to the actuating rod and at the other end to the reciprocable rod.
