  • Patent number: 7267399
Abstract: A motion assembly is provided for moving a number of panels between a coplanar position in which the panels are positioned adjacent each other and extend in the same plane, and a stacked position in which the panels are positioned one on top of the other. Each panel at each of its longitudinal sides is provided with a forward guide pin and a rearward guide pin which are guidingly housed in guides extending in parallel to said longitudinal sides. The guide for the forward guide pin ends in a first inclined guide section enclosing an angle with the remainder of said guide. The guide for the rearward guide pin ends in a second correspondingly inclined guide section enclosing an angle with the remainder of said guide. The distance between the first inclined guide section and the second inclined guide section substantially corresponds with the distance between the forward and rearward guide pins. Connecting devices are provided for connecting each panel with an adjacent panel.

  • Patent number: 6364406
Abstract: An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening in the fixed roof comprises a frame to be fixed to the roof and an adjustable panel supported by the frame and being adjustable between a closed position closing the roof opening and an open position in which it releases the roof opening on the front side. There is provided a sun screen slidably guided with its side edges within guide groves in guide rails, which are open in a direction to the sun screen. This guiding is effected by means of sliding shoes which are biased outwardly with respect to the sun screen by means of spring members. Two sliding shoes on both sides of a fixing point to the sun screen are connected to the sun screen and are pre-tensioned by a respective spring member. There are provided means for loading the spring members in vertical direction, symmetrically with respect to the fixing point.

  • Publication number: 20020021030
Abstract: An open roof construction for a vehicle having an opening in a fixed roof, has a stationary part to be fixed to the roof. A closure element supported by the stationary part is slidably guided by sliding shoes at the side edges of the closure element with respect to guideways on the stationary part. The guideways are formed of a metal, such as aluminum, which includes sliding surfaces of plastic material. The guideways may be guide grooves, whose bottom is curved, seen in cross-sectional view, whereas the sliding shoes exhibit a curvature adapted thereto on the side that faces towards the bottom of the associated guide groove, seen in cross-sectional view. The sliding shoes and the guideways can also be in form-locked engagement with each other within the normal range of movement, so they can be moved into and out of engagement with each other outside the normal range of movement.
