  • Patent number: 5246569
Abstract: A process for the catalytic hydrodesulfurization of hydrocarbon- containing feeds using a catalyst of a phosphorus component, a cobalt component and a Group VIB metal component on an alumina carrier.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1991
Date of Patent: September 21, 1993
    Assignee: Akzo N.V.
Inventors: Jacobus J. L. Heinerman, Antonius J. van Hengstum, Menno de Mind
  • Patent number: 5045518
Abstract: Disclosed are the preparation of a sulfided catalyst and the use of said catalyst in the hydrotreatment of hydrocarbon feeds. The sulfidation is carried out by ex situ presulfiding of a fresh or regenerated catalyst, followed by the resulting material being contacted in situ at elevated temperature with hydrogen gas in combination with either a sulfiding agent, e.g., hydrogen sulfide, or a spiked feed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 8, 1990
Date of Patent: September 3, 1991
    Assignee: Akzo N.V.
    Inventors: Jacobus J. L. Heinerman, Johannes W. F. M. Schoonhoven
  • Patent number: 5017535
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the ex situ presulfidation of hydrotreating catalysts employing organic sulfur compounds with a boiling point exceeding 100.degree. C. and satisfying the formulaX--R.sup.1 (S--R.sup.2).sub.p S--R.sup.3 --Y (I)wherein p=0, 1 or 2,R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 may be the same or different and represent alkylene groups having 1-4 carbon atoms,X and Y may be the same or different and have the meaning of --H, --OH, --OR.sup.4 4 or --C(O)OR.sup.5, whereinR.sup.4 has the meaning of an alkyl group or acyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, andR.sup.5 has the meaning of --H, an ammonium group or an alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms. Also disclosed is a process for activating the thus presulfided catalyst.

  • Patent number: 4620920
Abstract: This invention concerns a process for the preparation of a gasoline boiling hydrocarbon from a mixture of hydrocarbons specifically defined. The hydrocarbon feedstock is a mixture of two hydrocarbon oils with the first hydrocarbon oil having a Conradson carbon test value C.sub.1 and % w such that the quotient of C.sub.1 /R is higher than 0.8 and a second hydrocarbon oil having a Conradson carbon test number C.sub.2 such that the quotient C.sub.2 /R is lower than 0.2 wherein R is equal to the reactor carbon requirement for the particular catalytic cracking unit and is between 3 and 8 percent by weight.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1985
Date of Patent: November 4, 1986
    Assignee: Shell Oil Company
Inventors: Huno Van Der Eijk, Jacobus J. L. Heinerman, Ian E. Maxwell
  • Patent number: 4511752
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the preparation of a more active paraffin hydrocarbon hydroisomerization catalyst from synthetic mica montmorillonite, preferably a nickel synthetic mica montmorillonite catalyst, which may also contain palladium, by treating the catalyst with one or more compounds comprising chlorine which can further release one or more protons and/or hydrogen chloride, and preferably by treating with hydrochloric acid.
    Type: Grant
