  • Patent number: 5653262
Abstract: A recreational vehicle or the like including a vehicle body having opposed sides and a waste storage tank with an axially extendable flexible hose connected to a waste outlet of said tank, said waste outlet being at a lower portion of the body adjacent one of the sides thereof. An elongated tubular housing is provided within which said flexible hose extends such that the hose can be stored in said housing and also drawn outwardly of a distal end of the housing toward a waste receptacle. The housing has an articulated connection at a proximal end thereof adjacent said waste outlet to enable said housing to be articulated relative to the body of the vehicle from a storage position wherein said housing extends generally parallel to said one of said body sides to a use position wherein said housing extends outwardly from said one side of the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 5639141
Abstract: A system or structure allowing conversion of the front area seating of a van to a dinette for two and/or four persons and to a single and/or double bed. The structures provided enable the front passenger seat to rotate 360 degrees and slide over a position adjacent to the driver seat which also can be rotated 360 degrees. The single seat directly behind the driver seat can be extended sideways to form a double seat. The table in between the front seats and seat directly behind these seats is cantilevered from a wall cabinet located below the window, which is located in the exterior sidewall directly behind the driver seat. This table is removable at will for storage in a coat closet or lowered to serve as a base for a single or double bed. The two part hinged front leaf may be folded back over the main rear leaf to allow ample space for the driver seat to slide back and forth on tracks when in the forward driving position.

  • Patent number: 5575547
Abstract: There is provided a viewing and storage system for a television (TV) set or the like including a cabinet having a pair of adjacent compartments. One said compartment is sized to receive the TV set and has a frontal door opening therein. This one compartment also has a fixed horizontal lower shelf therein and a rotating horizontal support shelf rotatable about a vertical axis. The rotatable shelf is located at a level above said lower shelf and in close juxtaposition thereto. The rotatable shelf is shaped such that when (A) rotated to a first extended position, a substantial portion thereof extends outwardly of said one compartment via said door opening for support of the TV set thereon with the remaining portion of the rotatable shelf overlying said lower shelf. Means are provided for counteracting vertical loadings applied to the outwardly extending portion of said rotatable shelf.

  • Patent number: 5573053
Abstract: A tri-fold door system including a pair of spaced uprights defining a door opening, and a door including three vertically oriented panels namely, a distal panel, an intermediate panel and a proximal panel. These panels are hinged together for movement relative to one another from a door closed position wherein the panels are in the plane of the door opening to a door open position wherein the panels lie folded in close juxtaposition to each other. The proximal panel is hinged to a first one of the uprights defining the door opening. A track-way extends from the other one of the uprights part-way toward the first upright and is adapted to receive and guide the distal panel in a path lying in the plane of the door opening away from or toward the other one of the uprights as the door is being opened or closed respectively.

This recess extends in the fore and aft body direction and an elongated reel extends longitudinally within this recess and is mounted for rotation therein about its longitudinal axis. The reel is adapted to carry a length of awning material thereon. A rotating mechanism is provided for rotating said reel to effect wrapping or unwrapping of the awning material thereon to permit the awning material to be retracted into the recess or to be extended outwardly of the recess beyond the sidewall of the body. A door is also provided for closing the mouth of the recess when the awning material has been fully retracted into the recess.

  • Patent number: 4685719
Abstract: The single room interior space of a compact motorvan for most daytime living converts quickly into three private compartments by simply opening a set of dual function folding doors (movable partitions) exposing a toilet and bigger than average shower stall area (latter doubling as coat closet) and at the same time forming a central compartment, thereby automatically creating two more private compartments in front and rear. The kitchen facilities located in the central compartment, opposite from the toilet and shower/coat closet area, are used when the doors cover that area from view. This central utility compartment is always available for active use and never occupied by seats, table or beds. The four seats in the instantly creatable front compartment rapidly convert to two, wide single beds, with ample space between them for quick exit or access to the central privacy compartment.
