  • Patent number: 6607059
Abstract: A screw actuator comprises a screw (1) and a nut (2) which are each provided with at least a helical groove (3,4), and a series of rollers or balls (5) which are in rolling contact with the grooves (3,4). A sleeve (6) is provided which surrounds the nut (2) at least partly. The sleeve (6) may carry a seal (7) which acts between the nut (2) and screw (1); e.g. a wiper seal. The seal (7) may be fixedly connected to the nut (2), and frictionally engage the screw (1).

  • Patent number: 6598714
Abstract: Apparatus for providing a linear movement to an actuating member while preventing axial loadings from being transmitted from the actuating member to an engaging member, such as a screw. A pressure pad or springs are interposed between an actuating member and an engaging member such that axial loadings are prevented from being transmitted from the actuating member to the engaging member due to the resilient effect of the springs or pressure pad.

  • Publication number: 20030038002
Abstract: An actuator for a drum brake comprises a housing (1), a screw mechanism having at least one screw (3, 6) and a nut (4, 7), which screw mechanism (2) is supported with respect to the housing (1), and drive means (3) which are drivingly connected to the screw mechanism for providing a linear movement of at least one of the screw and nut with respect to the housing upon driving the screw mechanism. The screw mechanism comprises two axially aligned screws which have opposite lead angles and two corresponding nuts, said screws each engaging a respective nut, the drive means being connected to both screws or to both nuts.

  • Publication number: 20030032518
Abstract: A subassembly for an eccentric gear reduction unit comprises a mounting sleeve (1) and two coaxial shafts (2, 3). one of said shafts being rotatably supported with respect to the mounting sleeve by means of a support rolling element bearing (4), the other of said shafts being rotatably supported with respect to the support rolling element bearing and/or the one shaft (2) by means of an eccentric rolling element bearing, said eccentric rolling element bearing also supporting an eccentric gear wheel (6) to which the other shaft (3) is connected, which eccentric gear wheel is intended for engagement with a fixed ring gear (7) which is coaxial with respect to both shafts.

  • Patent number: 6367592
Abstract: An actuator for use in a brake caliper is situated at opposite ends of a screw mechanism. A reduction gear mechanism is located at a distance from the actuating member. The reduction gear mechanism is included in a reduction gear module and a screw mechanism is contained in a screw mechanism module, which are interconnected through a drive module. The drive module may be located at the end of the reduction gear module facing away from the screw mechanism module. The modules may be axially aligned or at least two modules may be axially shifted or eccentric with respect to each other. The screw mechanism module may comprise an angular contact bearing which may be supported in a housing in different ways. The reduction gear module may be part of a planetary gear system.

  • Patent number: 4820061
Abstract: A rolling bearing assembly for mounting a shaft or similar member which has a housing encircling the shaft with at least one rolling bearing installed between two securing rings. The assembly consists of an outer and an inner race and at least one row of rolling elements. It has annular chambers in the housing on either side of the bearing, closed off on their outer edges by annular seals which are attached to the housing and in contact with the bearing shaft. It has at least one hole opening into one of the annular chambers throught the wall of the housing, capable of being placed in communication on the outside with a feeding device for introducing a lubricant into the housing. There are two channels (17, 17') extending through the wall of the housing (1) and located diametrally opposed to each other, each opening into the closed annular chamber (8), and in that a trough-like receptacle (18) is accommodated in said channels, in which an excess of lubricant can be collected.

  • Patent number: 4703662
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a radial force proportionally distributed over the circumference of a member having a circular cross section including a measuring means having a fixed part (2) and a movable part (3). The movable part (3) consists of a circular segment having an enclosed angle which lies between 90.degree. and 150.degree., the segment being radially movable in relation to the fixed part. The measuring means with movable and fixed parts are coupled through a load meter (6) rigidly connected at one end with the measuring means fixed part, and at the other end with the measuring means movable part. The load meter further comprises a bending bar (9) and means restraining movement of one end with respect to the other end except in one plane of the bar. The bending bar has a plurality of stretch strips.
