  • Publication number: 20110313625
Abstract: A coupler (24) for coupling an accessory (28) to an excavator arm (12) of an excavator (10), the coupler comprising a first jaw (30) that points in a generally longitudinal direction relative to the frame of the coupler (24), the jaw (30) being for receiving a first attachment pin of an accessory (28) and having a first sensor (40) for detecting the presence of an attachment pin therein, the coupler (24) further having a second jaw (32), or a latch (34), longitudinally spaced from the first jaw (30), and being for receiving a second attachment pin of the accessory (28), and having a second sensor (42) for detecting the presence of an attachment pin therein. The sensors (40, 42) transmit or send signals to a receiver (46, 48) for notifying the driver of the coupling status of the coupler (24) with respect to the accessory (28).

  • Publication number: 20060086583
Abstract: A luggage assembly in which a first luggage case is provided with a handle assembly having a single tube member. The luggage assembly further includes a second luggage case, such as a tote, which can be disposed on top of the first luggage case. A luggage support member is provided to limit radial movement of the second luggage case away from the tube member of the handle assembly. Additionally, one or more rotation limiters are provided to inhibit rotation of the second luggage case about the tube member. The combination of the luggage support member and the rotation limiters can maintain the position of the second luggage case on the first luggage case, even when the luggage assembly is bumped or nudged.

  • Publication number: 20060076203
Abstract: A handle system for a rolling luggage case can include a luggage case in which one or more articles can be stored and having a top, bottom, front, and back panels, and a pair of sidewalls. The luggage case can include a wheel assembly provided at a location on the bottom panel and adjacent to the back panel; at least one telescoping member that is extensible from a retracted position within the luggage case to an extended position protruding from the luggage case; and a gear assembly that is attached to an end of the telescoping member(s) that is distal from the luggage case. The handle system can include a handle attached to the telescoping member(s) through the gear assembly. The gear assembly can provide pivotal and rotational movement of the handle about the end of the telescoping member(s).

  • Patent number: 6625909
Abstract: A coupler (11) for connecting a dipper arm (3) of an excavator to a bucket (1) without need for the operator of the excavator to leave the cab of the excavator, the coupler (11) having a device for connecting it to the end of the dipper arm (3), and a latching hook (17) for connecting it to a bucket (1), wherein the latching hook (17) has a special internal profile (56, 57, 61) so that when it is supporting the weight of a bucket (1), it will tend to move to a latching position, not to an unlatching position.

  • Patent number: 6481124
Abstract: A coupler (11) for connecting a dipper arm (3) of an excavator to a bucket (1) without the need for the operator of the excavator to leave the cab of the excavator, the coupler (11) having means for connecting it to the end of the dipper arm, and means, including a latching hook (17) for connecting it to one of a plurality of different buckets (1) and wherein locking means (25) is provided to prevent inadvertent unlatching of the latching hook (17), said locking means (25) being operable from the cab. The locking means may be gravity operated and include resiliently deformable means (27), thereon to prevent unlatching when the coupler (11) is inverted. Alternatively, it may be spring (71) operated in which case, further means (73, 75) is provided to move the locking means against the bias of the spring. Preferably, the hook (17) has a special internal profile (56, 57, 61) so that when it is supporting the weight of a bucket, it will tend to move to a latching position, not to an unlatching position.
