Patent number: 11926555Abstract: Glass-ceramics exhibiting a Vickers indentation crack initiation threshold of at least 15 kgf are disclosed. These glass-ceramics may be ion exchangeable or ion exchanged. The glass-ceramics include a crystalline and amorphous phases generated by subjecting a thin precursor glass article to ceramming cycle having an average cooling rate in the range from about 10° C./minute to about 25° C./minute. In one or more embodiments, the crystalline phase may comprise at least 20 wt % of the glass-ceramics. The glass-ceramics may include ?-spodumene ss as the predominant crystalline phase and may exhibit an opacity?about 85% over the wavelength range of 400-700 nm for an about 0.8 mm thickness and colors an observer angle of 10° and a CIE illuminant F02 determined with specular reflectance included of a* between ?3 and +3, b* between ?6 and +6, and L* between 88 and 97.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2020Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: CORNING INCORPORATEDInventors: Lionel Joel Mary Beunet, Marie Jacqueline Monique Comte, Allan Mark Fredholm, Qiang Fu, Anne Paris, Sophie Peschiera, Charlene Marie Smith

Publication number: 20230114638Abstract: A cloud service receives locations of priority vehicles (PVs) and non-priority vehicles in a metropolitan area. The cloud service accesses a database storing indicia of restricted road portions in the metropolitan area. The cloud service allocates restricted road portions from the database to the NPVs based on the locations of the PVs, the locations of the NPVs, and locations of the restricted road portions. The allocating includes preventing some of the restricted road portions in the database from being available to be allocated to the NPVs based on determining, according to the locations of the PVs and NPVs and according to pre-stored routes of the PVs, that estimated uses of the road portions by the NPVs would conflict with estimated uses of the road portions by the PVs as they travel along the pre-stored routes. Routes generated to include the respectively allocated road portions are provided to the NPVs.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2021Publication date: April 13, 2023Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Don Conroy, Sarah Klein, Hyongju Park, Jacqueline Smith, Sophia Dancel

Patent number: 9259071Abstract: A method of creating designs on the surface of a finger nail or toenail is disclosed. A first amount of a flowable protective coating is applied over at least a first portion of a surface of a cuticle adjacent the nail. A first nail polish is applied to the surface of the nail. An additional amount of the flowable protective coating is applied over one or more portions of the surface of the nail coated with the first nail polish. A second nail polish is applied over exposed portions of the nail not covered by the additional amount of the flowable protective coating. The first amount of flowable protective coating and the additional amount of the flowable protective coating are removed by peeling the first amount of flowable protective coating and the additional amount of the flowable protective coating from the cuticle and the nail.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2013Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Inventor: Jacqueline A.
