  • Publication number: 20140196827
Abstract: The invention relates to a tire comprising a crown reinforcement formed of at least two working crown layers of reinforcing elements the ends of which are radially uncoupled by a polymer compound. According to the invention, the reinforcing elements of at least one working crown layer are metal cords with saturated layers, at least one internal layer being sheathed with a layer consisting of a polymer composition such as a rubber composition and in each of the shoulders of the tire, at least the uncoupling polymer compound in contact with the ends of at least two working crown layers exhibits, in the sorption test, a gas content lower than 0.06 m3STP/m3ML.

  • Publication number: 20140129191
Abstract: A method for estimating a seal of a gasket, including: digitally simulating, using a computer, a creep deformation of a gasket resulting from crushing of the gasket between two bearing surfaces; calculating, at an interface between the gasket and one of the two bearing surfaces and during the computer simulation, a cumulative plastic deformation of the gasket, an axial stress between the gasket and the one the two bearing surfaces, and a contact length between the gasket and the one of the two bearing surfaces; and calculating a simulated porosity filling coefficient, representing the seal of the gasket at the interface.

  • Publication number: 20120325388
Abstract: A tire comprising: two beads intended to come into contact with a mounting rim; two sidewalls extending the beads radially outward, the two sidewalls joining in a crown comprising a crown reinforcement extending axially between two axial ends and surmounted by a tread; and a carcass reinforcement anchored in the two beads and extending through the sidewalls to the crown, wherein the crown includes, radially to the inside of the carcass reinforcement, at least one reservoir layer made of a rubber mix having a high antioxidant content, so that at least one reservoir layer is radially plumb with each axial end of the crown reinforcement, wherein said at least one reservoir layer has an antioxidant content equal to or greater than 5 phr but does not exceed 10 phr, and wherein said at least one reservoir layer further includes an oxygen absorbent.

  • Publication number: 20120258384
Abstract: The invention relates to a seal (10) inserted between two elements (4?, 6) having different coefficients of thermal expansion, said seal comprising: a first and a second metallic contact portion (16a, 16b) spaced along an axial stacking direction (8) orthogonal with respect to a radial direction (20); tight connection means (14) between the portions (16a, 16b), allowing a relative movement between same along a radial direction; and a first and a second sliding part (24a, 24b) respectively coupled in translation along the radial direction with the portions (16a, 16b), and stacked so as to be able to slide in relation to each other along the radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20120175033
Abstract: A rubber composition based on at least a diene elastomer, a reinforcing filler and a crosslinking system, characterized in that it comprises at least 10 to 150 phr of a platy filler and from 0.01 to 0.3 phr of a metal salt. This composition has good processing and mechanical properties, and also improved oxygen impermeability properties over a wide temperature range, from ambient temperatures when the tire is stationary up to the temperatures of the tire when it is running. According to one preferred embodiment, the rubber composition described above can be used in the tire as a protective elastomer layer in at least one part of the tire.

  • Patent number: 6079872
Abstract: A watch casing capable of containing an object, such as a cigar cutter, the watch casing comprising a base and a lid moveably connected to the base, where the base or the lid comprises a recess capable of holding the object. The watch face or dial is situated on the lid, which is attached to the base by a hinge, and which lid moves between and open and a closed position. In the folded position, the lid on the watch casing conceals all or most of the object contained within the watch casing, beneath the watch face or dial.
