  • Patent number: 6459688
Abstract: The invention relates to a registration method used for registering at least one dual mode mobile station (MMS) with an associated private base station (DBS). The private base station is connected to the public telephone network (PSTN, ISDN) and uses, for transmission and reception, frequencies which are close to or identical to those used in a cellular radio system. The dual mode mobile station can operate either in “cordless” mode, used to communicate via said private base station, or in “cellular” mode, used to communicate via base stations (BTS) within the cellular radio system. Registration of the dual mode mobile station with the private base station constitutes a preliminary stage enabling the operation of the dual mode mobile station in “cordless” mode, whereby, following each incoming or outgoing call, a conversation can be established between the dual mode mobile station and other telephone equipment, via the private base station.

  • Publication number: 20020071406
Abstract: A base station of a space division multiple access digital cellular mobile radio system includes an array of active antennas dynamically creating receive and/or transmit beams in the direction of mobile stations present in the current cell associated with the base station. The array of active antennas is driven by receive and/or transmit systems. At least one of the mobile stations present in the current cell is a calibration transponder-station used, in addition to its conventional function, as a calibration transponder for receiving and/or transmitting at least one test signal enabling calibration of the receive and/or transmit systems.

  • Patent number: 6226278
Abstract: A system for radio communication with mobile stations, the system being of the type enabling one or more network operators to manage respective distinct networks. Each network is constituted by geographical cells and has mobile stations travelling therethrough. Each cell of a given network is associated with a base station through which those mobile stations that are located in the cell and that are subscribers with the operator managing the given network can communicate. In its own network, each operator transmits a pilot data channel supplying each mobile station with pilot data enabling it specifically to log-on to the network. According to the invention, the system further comprises a super-network made up of geographical super-cells each associated with a super-basestation. Each super-basestation transmits a data signal carrying the pilot data channel of the, or each, operator.

  • Patent number: 5697057
Abstract: A sectorized cell of a mobile radio network forms a first set which comprises a nucleus and a plurality of sectors disposed around the nucleus, the coverage of the cell being provided by transceiver units forming a second set, the first and second sets being associated on a one-to-one basis. Each sector comprising a core, at least one separation section being provided between the cores of two adjacent sectors, and the control station comprises an allocation unit capable of allocating the same resource to the cores of two adjacent sectors.

  • Patent number: 4588956
Abstract: An amplifier-limiter device intended to amplify a received signal up to a predetermined value. The device comprises 2n integrated circuits of the emitter coupled logic type which are connected in series, these integrated circuits forming n successive pairs and each pair having associated with it a compensating circuit which compensates for the linear distortion caused by the integrated circuits of the pair.

  • Patent number: 4562307
Abstract: A transmitter-receiver station for two-way communication links comprises a power-saving device and a ringer which is responsive to incoming calls. When the handset of the station considered is replaced in its cradle after a connection with another station, the power-saving device of the station considered comes into operation, with the immediate result that the transmitter-receiver unit is subsequently supplied only in an intermittent manner and that, by means of a delay circuit, the ringer of the telephone set can be actuated only after a predetermined time interval. The effect thereby achieved in the station considered is that operation of the ringer is prevented from taking place as soon as the handset has been replaced if the handset in the other station remains lifted for a slightly longer period of time.

  • Patent number: 4559499
Abstract: The microwave reception chain according to the invention comprises a direct microwave demodulation device comprising a demodulation circuit associated with an oscillator operating at the microwave carrier frequeny, controllable to coincide in phase with the carrier received. The demodulation circuit comprises a separator coupled to the input for the received signal and connected to two symmetrical mixers which respectively receive the carrier from the oscillator and the same carrier shifted through 90.degree. which are available at the output of a coupler having a phase shift of 90.degree., the outputs of the mixers being connected to low-pass filters restoring the demodulated digital sequences. The reception chain comprises an automatic gain control circuit in the base band and a phase calculator receiving the demodulated digital sequences.

  • Patent number: 4296495
Abstract: The device determines the error rate by the periodic evaluation of the parity of a pre-determined number of bits, the synchronism of said evaluation at transmission and reception being ensured by the recognition of a predetermined sequence in the binary information signal, the parity information being transmitted by an auxiliary modulation independent of that of the information flow.
