  • Patent number: 9596980
Abstract: An endoscopic surgery apparatus is provided, including a tubular member, a handle located on a proximal end of the tubular member, and one or more pivotable arms detachably connected to a distal end of the tubular member. The tubular member has channels along its longitudinal axis, wherein at least one of the channels is an optical channel and at least one other channel is an illumination channel. The arms have guiding channels adapted to receive surgical tools, which direct the surgical tools. The arms are interchangeable with other arms of different configurations. Also, said arms have an open and a closed position, such that when the arms are in the closed position an opening is defined allowing viewing of a surgical site via the optical channel.

  • Publication number: 20160228938
Abstract: A method of making a can end by forming a can end shell in a shell press; and converting the shell into a can end. The step of forming the can end shell comprises pressing sheet metal into an end shell with a bead feature in the radially outer circumference of its centre panel. In a subsequent can end conversion operation material from the bead feature is used to set final geometry of the converted can end.

  • Patent number: 9376233
Abstract: An easy open closure (10) for food or beverage containers and comprising a centre panel (27) surrounded by a circumferential score (16) and an outer seaming panel (17). The closure further comprises a tab (11), the tab being fixed to the centre panel by a rivet (12) formed in the centre panel (27) such that lifting of a radially inner region of the tab (11) forces a nose portion (24) of the tab into contact with a region of the centre panel adjacent to a radially inner edge of the circumferential score (16), thereby causing the score to fracture. A bead (19) is formed in and extending circumferentially around the centre panel inside and adjacent to the circumferential score (16) and at a radius outside of the rivet (12), the bead deviating inwardly from its circumferential path as it approaches the region in which the rivet (12) is formed, and the bead terminating adjacent to and on either side of the rivet.

  • Patent number: 9239697
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for a display multiplier. First image data is received for a first display device and second image data is received for a second display device, where the second display device has fewer scan lines than the first display device. A scan line of the second image data is duplicated and a display multiplier output stream is generated that includes a first scan line of the first image data, the scan line of the second image data, a second scan line of the first image data, and the duplicated scan line of the second image data.

  • Patent number: 9232982
Abstract: A system for orientation assistance and display of an instrument that is inserted or present in the natural or artificially produced hollow cavity (human, animal, object), and that is equipped with one or more sensor units. Multiple measurements of the 3D position of the instrument equipped with one or more sensor units are performed by positioning a measuring system, so that a precise orientation and positioning of the instrument in the body can be computed. The 3D position data are used to compute a virtual image of the instrument synchronously. The virtual images are then either projected directly in exact position onto the body surface of a person or combined in a body surface image (real video camera image of the patient) onto a monitor or superimposed (virtual or augmented reality). The system is especially appropriate for displaying for a user a medical instrument, such as a catheter or a rigid or flexible endoscope, in the body of a person in real time, extracorporeally and in correct position.

  • Patent number: 9107572
Abstract: A method of transluminal surgery is provided, which utilizes an endoscopic surgery apparatus having pivotable arms attached by hinges on its distal end. The arms are interchangeable with arms of various configurations. The method includes the steps of inserting an endoscopic surgery apparatus into a body cavity of a patient, making an incision in the body cavity wall to allow access to the patient's abdominal cavity, and further inserting the apparatus through the incision. Surgery is performed at the desired surgical site and the apparatus is withdrawn into the body cavity where the incision is closed. Finally, the apparatus is withdrawn from the patient's body.

  • Publication number: 20140299039
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of transporting CO2 by ship for the purpose of storage in the ocean. The CO2 is transported at a temperature between ?25° C. and +25° C., and under a pressure that is sufficiently high for the CO2 to be in a liquid or supercritical state. The choice of temperature/pressure conditions for the CO2 enables the transport of CO2 one way to be effectively combined with transport of compressed natural gas (CNG) the other way. Ships can be used that have relatively cheap tubular containment equipment similar to the type normally used for CNG but with lower pressure and not subject to cyclic thermal and mechanical effects of pressurizing and depressurizing.

  • Patent number: 8383979
Abstract: A part-holding device in a method for repairing a blade of a monobloc bladed disc of a turbo-machine, through electron-beam welding of a patch onto the blade along a junction plane is disclosed. The device includes a disc supporting device which supports the disc and an adjustable holding device which holds the blade and the patch. The adjustable holding device includes a platen which supports the adjustable holding device, arranged such that the space located above the junction plane allows for an electron beam to pass. The relative positions of the blade and the patch are set using the adjustable holding device that is supported by the platen, while leaving some space allowing for an electron beam to pass. Such a device is simple and reliable.
