  • Patent number: 4089512
Abstract: A telescopic system formed of a relatively slidable plunger rod and cylinder is operated as a pneumatic spring equipped with an end-stroke electrically-actuated indicator. The plunger rod is fitted with a damping piston which is slidably mounted thereon between two stops secured thereto and used as valve members for partially obturating a groove formed on the piston face and communicating with an axial passage through the piston. The cylinder bottom and the slidable piston constitute the two associated contacts of an electric switch and are respectively connected to the terminals of an electric circuit energizing an indicator.

  • Patent number: 4055352
Abstract: Sealing means for a longitudinally displaceable rod forming part of, for example, an aircraft undercarriage, comprises a flexible annular sealing element having a skirt which is folded back to define a toroidal cavity which receives fluid under pressure to press a lip of the sealing element into fluid-tight engagement with the rod.

  • Patent number: 3958673
Abstract: A telescopic hydraulic shock absorber comprising a piston which moves inside a cylinder as it follows oscillations which are to be damped, a piston rod connected to said piston and a reservoir chamber containing a compressible phase and connected to said cylinder by valves in order to permit alternating movements of liquid through passages between the cylinder and the chamber in correspondence with the variations in the rod volume located inside the cylinder, in which at least the passages for transferring liquid from the chamber to the cylinder have entry orifices located in the cylinder wall or in an extension of said wall.
