Abstract: A metal feeding system includes an injector for distributing a molten metal into a movable mold, a supply container upstream from the injector and defining a receiving area for receiving the molten metal, and a dam system. The dam system includes a dam positionable within the receiving area and a controller that may vertically position the at least one dam for controlling a flow of molten metal from the receiving area to the injector. A method of controlling a molten metal distribution to a continuous casting device includes at least partially blocking a flow of a molten metal from a receiving area to an injector using at least one dam in the receiving area. The method may include detecting a temperature of the molten metal downstream from the at least one dam and controlling a vertical position of the at least one dam based on the detected temperature.

Abstract: A tank for liquid metal processing tilting about an axis and fed by a fixed chute and pouring the liquid metal into a fixed evacuating chute. The tank includes at least a passage hole for supplying, discharging, or emptying the liquid metal arranged in one of its walls and extended by a mobile nozzle integral with the tank. At least the fixed evacuation chute merges with the tilting axis and the nozzle. Further, the fixed chute is assembled together by a linking device articulated in rotation about the tilting axis.

Abstract: The roll body (110) of the invention for a continuous casting machine is able to carry a cylindrical shell (111) in its central part and includes a cooling circuit (200), the circuit having at least one cooling liquid supply conduit (30), at least one cooling liquid evacuation conduit (40), at least one distribution collector (70), at least one evacuation collector (80), at least one distribution pipe (50, 60) connecting each collector to the corresponding conduit, and a plurality of ring channels (90) connecting the supply and evacuation collectors, the collectors and ring channels being used to place the cooling liquid circulating in the circuit in contact with the inner surface of the shell (111) such as to cool the shell, and is characterized in that the collectors (70, 80) are arranged such as to produce both in the peripheral direction and in the longitudinal direction an alternation of distribution collectors (70) and evacuation collectors (80).
