  • Patent number: 8388276
Abstract: The present invention describes a machine to that includes a casing and a toolholder spindle. The machine tool further includes a drive mechanism that drives the toolholder spindle. The drive mechanism includes first and second drive members. The first drive member rotates the spindle about its axis. The second drive member translates the spindle and is screwed onto the spindle in such a way that the spindle advances or reverses as a function of the relative speed of rotation between the first and second drive members. The machine tool also includes a first motor and a second motor. The first motor rotates the first drive member and the second motor rotates the second drive member. The machine too further includes a control unit that controls and adjusts the speed of rotation of the first motor and the second motor independently.

  • Patent number: 7806637
Abstract: A tool, such as a pneumatic tool, includes a casing, tool-holder spindle extending along an axis, and a drive mechanism for the tool-holder spindle. The mechanism uses a first member for driving the spindle in rotation about its axis and a second member for driving the spindle in translation along its axis. The second drive member is screwed onto a threaded portion of the spindle so that the spindle advances or returns as a function of the relative rate of rotation of the drive members. The second drive member is displaced along the axis between an advanced position and a returned position.

  • Publication number: 20060018724
Abstract: This tool comprises: a casing (3), a tool-holder spindle (5) extending along an axis (A), a drive mechanism (9) for the tool-holder spindle, the mechanism comprising: a first member (21) for driving the spindle (5) in rotation about its axis, a second member (35) for driving the spindle in translation along its axis, the second drive member being screwed onto a threaded portion of the spindle (5) so that the spindle (5) advances or returns along the axis (A) as a function of the relative rate of rotation of the drive members (21, 35). The tool comprises means (37) for displacing the second drive member (35) relative to the casing (3) along the axis (A) between an advanced position and a returned position. Application, for example, to pneumatic drilling tools.
