  • Patent number: 4362012
Abstract: In a spinning or twisting machine, a anti-balloon ring stationarily fixed around the bobbin spindle is first sand-blasted so as to produce a predetermined degree of surface roughness, then provided with a nickel coating in order to reduce undesirable excrescences followed by a copper coating in order to reduce friction and loss of yarn resistance while permitting much higher spindle speeds in respect of an acceptable rate of wear.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 20, 1980
Date of Patent: December 7, 1982
Assignee: Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mecaniques de Mulhouse
    Inventor: Jacques Le Chatelier
  • Patent number: 4316357
Abstract: The method for winding yarn in the form of a cone onto a bobbin carried by a spindle in a spinning or twisting frame consists in passing the yarn to be wound through a traveler mounted on a revolving ring, in lifting and lowering the ring cyclically around the bobbin in order to form the winding cone, and in producing a cyclic variation in the spindle speed in accordance with the cycle of up-and-down motion of the ring support plate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 5, 1980
Date of Patent: February 23, 1982
Assignee: Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mechaniques
    Inventor: Jacques Le Chatelier
  • Patent number: 4258541
Abstract: A twisting element placed at the outlet of a high-speed rotor of a freed-fiber spinning device is constituted by a portion of turn of helical wire which is jammed against the internal surface of an elbowed tube. The portion of helical turn is located within the elbowed section of the tube and the tube is fixed on the thread delivery orifice of the spinning device.

  • Patent number: 4241572
Abstract: The bottom wall of a cup-shaped rotor for a freed-fiber spinning device has a flat central portion surrounded by an inclined annular portion. The lateral wall of the cup has the shape of a cone frustum, the small diameter of which is located on the edge of the cup opening. Waste removal holes are formed in the annular portion of the bottom wall in the immediate vicinity of the lateral wall. Waste material is thus discharged to the exterior of the rotor under the action of centrifugal force.

  • Patent number: 4238920
Abstract: Each revolving ring of a continuous-spinning frame for textile yarn is mounted on a fluid bearing and driven in rotation by a ring traveler. The resisting torque of the ring is intentionally increased by means of hollow or projecting portions such as fins formed on the ring in order to produce a difference in speed between the normal speed of rotation of the spindle and the speed of rotation of the ring. The result thereby achieved is to ensure uniform tension of the yarn and to improve operating stability of the spinning frame.

Date of Patent: December 16, 1980
Assignee: Societe Alsacienne de Constructions Mecaniques de Mulhouse

  • Patent number: 3988881
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for supplying fibers to a unit for spinning loose or free fibers. Such a device according to the invention comprises a feeding device including means for holding back a sliver of fibers and a fiber-separating device disposed in a hollow enclosure and constituted by a rotary drum, the surface of which is made up by elements of narrow fiber-separating ridges which each extend in a circumferential direction in a plane perpendicular to the drum axis over only a part of the drum periphery; two of said elements successive in the axial direction are angularly staggered while narrow and deep grooves separate in the axial direction at least a part of said ridge elements from one another; the invention is generally applicable to feeding devices of spinning units of free or loosened fibers of all kinds.
