  • Publication number: 20070239465
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for automatically renting bicycles (1) during which an authorization of a deduction of a certain maximum value from an account associated with a payment card is firstly generated, this authorization being valid for a limited period of time. Upon each subsequent rental of an article, a user furnishes an identification code associated with the authorization identifier, the identification code furnished by the user is verified whether it corresponds to the authorization identifier, and a rental of the article is authorized or not authorized on the basis of this verification. Finally, after a certain period of time, an amount based on the effected rentals is debited from the account associated with the payment card.

  • Patent number: 6756952
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a light display panel with a matrix of pixels each comprising three monochrome electroluminescent diodes of three colors. The diodes are controlled by a control circuit delivering electrical power P to each diode, said electrical power being expressed in the form P−k.Pr, wherein Pr is a reference electrical power particular to the diodes of each color and k is a coefficient selected according to the display to be presented. Over the course of time the reference electrical power is subjected to different variations depending on the colors, to compensate for the aging of the diodes.

  • Patent number: 6253148
Abstract: An information system for informing users of a bus network about waiting times for buses at stops in the network. The system includes a system for locating buses coupled to a central point which broadcasts said positions at successive instants &thgr; to receivers adapted to calculate waiting times for the buses on the basis of their positions, which positions reach the receivers after a certain average length of “transit” time T. In order to ensure that calculated waiting times as are accurate as possible, the central computer point broadcasts to the receivers estimated positions that the buses are expected to occupy at instant &thgr;+T.

  • Patent number: 4412284
Abstract: Method of operating a mains-powered processor-controlled electrical apparatus when the power fails and is subsequently restored and apparatus therefor. In the case of a power outage data identifying the program in progress is transferred for salvage to a memory. When power is restored and if the duration of the mains-power failure is smaller than a predetermined value, physical parameters which define the instantaneous state of the apparatus are sensed in response to an instruction from the processor in order to determine the conditions under which the program may be resumed by the apparatus.
