  • Patent number: 9436783
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for estimating degradation and durability characteristics of a reinforced concrete structure are provided. Location-dependent information conveying structural information associated with different locations along the concrete structure is received, the location-dependent information having been obtained by applying a non-destructive testing (NDT) process to the concrete structure. The location-dependent information is processed in combination with information conveying material properties and information conveying estimated environmental conditions to derive concrete degradation simulation data conveying estimated degradation and durability characteristics associated with the different locations along the concrete structure. A signal is then released, causing the estimated degradation and durability characteristics of the concrete structure to be displayed on a display device.

  • Patent number: 8833776
Abstract: A carriage configured to transport an aircraft engine module from a preparation station to an assembly station includes, on a dolly, a reinforcement structure configured to be made horizontally mobile by sliding on balls, two vertically mobile brackets, and moving fingers to slide under the module's supports. The module is then supported by the carriage in a safe manner, can be raised and transported, and can also be temporarily overturned to check that its interior is empty.

  • Publication number: 20110120128
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling a power plant, which power plant comprises: a boiler being adapted for combusting an organic fuel and for generating steam and a process gas comprising carbon dioxide; a steam system being; and a carbon dioxide capture system being adapted to remove at least a portion of the carbon dioxide from the process gas by contacting a carbon dioxide absorbent solution with the process gas, the method comprising: forwarding a portion of the steam produced by the power plant boiler to a regenerator of the carbon dioxide capture system; regenerating the absorbent solution in said regenerator through heating of said carbon dioxide absorbent solution by means of the forwarded steam; and automatically controlling the operation of the carbon capture system by means of at least one automatic controller. The invention also relates to a power plant including a carbon dioxide capture system.

  • Patent number: 6959270
Abstract: The present invention relates to a computational tool that allows to evaluate the degradation of cement-based materials under various types of chemical attacks such as sulfates, chlorides, and plain water. It is based on the physical principles of ionic mass conservation and chemical equilibrium between a solution and different solid phases. The effect of the dissolution or the precipitation of solid phases on the transport coefficients is considered. A method for determining an ion concentration in solution of at least two ions capable of undergoing transport in a cement-based material under a chemical attack and a solid phase profile for at least one component of said cement-based material is provided. A method for determining a diffusion coefficient for each of at least two ions capable of undergoing transport in a cement-based material is also provided.
