  • Patent number: 4901554
Abstract: A universal finishing stand in which the rolling wheels of the horizontal rolls are disposed and eccentric to the transverse central planes of the corresponding rolling tables and adjacent the vertical laminating roll in order to form a space defined by the passive faces of the rolling wheels and a support post through which a rail blank may be freely passed during the edging and universal rolling passes. In another embodiment, the space is temporarily formed by shifting the horizontal rolls along their axes of rotation.

  • Patent number: 4726212
Abstract: A hydraulic stretching machine for straightening and stress-relieving rails, the machine being defined by stretching grips and fixing shackles being displaceable individually and independently, laterally and vertically, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the stretching machine, and grip-holding jaws which can be oriented about a longitudinal axis, the jaws including a fixed jaw and a mobile jaw articulated in and upon the fixed jaw.

  • Patent number: 4615201
Abstract: The system according to the invention comprises: stand-bearing trolleys capable of independent displacements in the longitudinal and transverse directions, each constituted by two longitudinal members on which the stand is fixed and supported by axle-less wheels driven by on-board motors and by two transverse members supported by axle-less wheels driven by on-board motors; longitudinal and transverse tracks connecting the rolling sites, the siding sites and the pre-assembly sites; intersections of tracks; counter-rails disposed vertically on either side of the tracks; hydraulic jacks serving to fix the stands on the trolleys and for lifting the stands for adjusting the level of the rolling plane; bed plates upstream and downstream of the rolling sites serving to lock the stands in rolling position; on the rolling sites, coupling hooks serving for the precise positioning of the stands in rolling position and where necessary for the displacements of the stands during rolling, to bring different passes into the

  • Patent number: 4589269
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved device for moving and axially adjusting horizontal rolls of a section for rolling mill stand, comprising an axial thrust bearing mounted in the envelope of a casing blocked on an element of the stand, a sleeve mounted for axial slide and fast with the outer race of the bearing, the sleeve being blocked in rotation in the envelope of the casing; a screw mechanism for adjusting the position of the sleeve with respect to the envelope of the casing comprising a thread on an outer part of the sleeve on which are screwed two pinion-nuts, two end stops formed on the casing, two shafted pinions pivoting in the casing each contiguous with a stop and meshing with a respective pinion-nut, the two pinion-nuts being provided on their opposite face with a dog-clutch. The shafted pinions may be controlled by motors having reversible rotation, and associated with pulse counters.
