  • Patent number: 7739706
Abstract: The invention consists of a method for controlling the use of a device for viewing audiovisual transmissions, aiming to limit the duration of viewing audiovisual transmissions during determined time periods. The method comprises steps of inserting and displaying a first and a second duration, which define a maximum viewing time. The method also comprises a step of displaying values of binary indicators associated with determined time periods, and a step of inserting a binary indicator value for each time period, the binary value allocating the first or the second duration at this time period in order to define the viewing duration authorized during this time period. The invention also relates to the viewing device for implementing the method and a graphics interface for presenting parameters of the method.

  • Patent number: 7605713
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of control of at least one electronic appliance with the aid of a distant device such as a remote control. The device comprises means of control, typically the keys of a keypad and a means of selection of an appliance from among several. The method comprises the following steps: activation of the device in a first mode where the means of control preferentially command the appliance selected by the means of selection, programming of at least one association between a means of control and an appliance, and activation of the associations so that the activation of a means of control commands the appliance associated during the programming step. The invention also relates to a device able to implement the method.

  • Publication number: 20070067328
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for navigating in a list of items in an audiovisual receiver including a first step for generating an ordered list of items available in the receiver, a step for displaying a first sub-list extracted from the list including a first item highlighted at one end of the displayed sub-list. The method also includes a step for identifying a second item adjacent to the first item not appearing in the first sub-list, and a step for displaying a second sub-list including at least the first item and the second highlighted item. In one improvement to the present invention, the displayed items are digital television service identifiers. In one variant, these items are identifiers of events broadcast by a television network. The invention also relates to the receiver capable of selecting the services according to the method.
