    Abstract: A process for the continuous rearrangement of alkali metal salts of aromatic carboxylic acids is disclosed. The process is conducted under an atmosphere of carbon dioxide and in the presence of an organic diluent and results in high conversion rates and practically quantitative yields of the rearranged alkali metal salt of the aromatic carboxylic acid.
