Abstract: A method and system of selecting items of data from a stream of information by comparing the information to reference data. The reference data items are recorded in the form of logical entities in a two dimensional memory table. The reference logical entities of different types are stored vertically in different horizontal zones of the table in the order in which the entities of the same type are found in the file. In a control memory are stored, line-by-line, control information which specify the comparisons to be made between the reference logical entities and logical entities which are received from the file, as well as control information related to storage of logical entities received from the file and of operations including comparisons and storage between comparison results and other data contained in the table and information related to the linkage of processes for each control line of the control memory or from one control line to another.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method which uses results from comparisons, to permute data sources into read-out and/or into read-in for restarting or storage the information. Comparisons are made between data which does not necessarily issue from the same stream of information which is stored in buffer stores and compared on computing units for two data from different sources or on computing units for two data from the same source. The reference data are respectively stored in columns in reference tables. Simultaneously, the datum is recorded on one or more other columns of the tables to serve as references for the comparisons on a datum issuing from the same or different streams of information. The result of the comparisons permutes by a decoder the sources into read-out and/or into read-in, the columns of reference tables into read-out and into read-in and the corresponding computing units.

Abstract: Data comparisons are carried out between reference logical entities and logical entities proceeding from a file. The reference logical entities of different types are stored vertically in different horizontal zones (A, B, C) of a table in the order in which the entities of the same type are found in the file. In a control memory are recorded, line by line, items of control information relative to the comparison to be made with the reference entities of the zone of said table which corresponds to the line, items of storage control information and items of information for control of operations to be carried out at the end of comparison and/or storage, in particular the linkage of the processes to be carried out. The memory is read line by line while the logical entities from the file are received for comparison.
