Abstract: A drive and control device includes a turbine provided with an output shaft capable of providing a first drive torque and an electric motor having an output shaft capable of providing a second drive torque. The device further includes a coupling component for coupling the rotation of the turbine and electric motor output shafts with the rotating machine of the treatment facility. The device further includes a control unit for controlling the operation of the electric motor and the turbine. The control unit is arranged to define a setpoint value of an operating parameter of the rotating machine in accordance with at least one characteristic quantity of the operation of the treatment facility (2), and to regulate turbine and electric motor operating parameters in accordance with the at least one characteristic quantity to bring the value of the operating parameter of the rotating machine closer to the defined setpoint value.

Abstract: The invention concerns a unit (10) comprising a chamber (4) for contacting liquid and fumes, means (10, 12) for distributing liquid into said chamber (4), a circuit (14) feeding the distributing means (10, 12) with liquid, comprising in particular a pump (16), a safety liquid reserve (10 arranged at a level higher than that of said chamber (4) and means for transferring (22, 26) said liquid by gravity, from the reserve to the feeding circuit. The transfer means (22, 26) are adapted to enable the liquid to flow in both ascending and descending directions, said flow being constantly possible in at least one of the two directions and occurring in one direction or the other depending on pressure conditions prevailing in the feeder circuit.

Abstract: A rotary vortex separator for heterogeneous liquids, e.g. water with a small oil content on an offshore oil platform, includes injection channels (30) which inject water to be de-oiled at an axial speed relative to the periphery of the separator at the upstream end (4) of a cylindrical separation chamber (2) rotating about its axis (8). Purified water leaves from the other end (6) of said chamber via an annular outlet opening (26) of smaller radius to constitute a free vortex type of flow. The oil is removed by an axial tube (28).
