  • Publication number: 20230023544
Abstract: A simulation testing architecture can be applied to an aircraft monitoring system for an aircraft that includes complex algorithms (such as machine learning algorithms) for sensing objects around the aircraft and controlling the aircraft to avoid such objects. A reference scenario is selected from a plurality of stored scenarios based on a desired set of aircraft safety standards. A stochastic process is applied to generate a large number of conditional variations within a simulated environment, varying weather, objects in the airspace, points of failure, and the like to provide a representative sample of possible aircraft missions and encounters within the selected reference scenario. Synthetic environmental inputs are fed into the aircraft monitoring system software, and the resultant actions of the software are logged. These logs can be used to generate metrics on an encounter-level basis, a scenario-level basis, or across a population of scenarios.

  • Patent number: 11560442
Abstract: Polar silane linkers are provided that attach to resins to form silane-functionalized resins. The functionalized resins can be bound to hydroxyl groups on the surface of silica particles to improve the dispersibility of the silica particles in rubber mixtures. Further disclosed are synthetic routes to provide the silane-functionalized resins, as well as various uses and end products that benefit from the unexpected properties of the silane-functionalized resins. Silane-functionalized resins impart remarkable properties on various rubber compositions, such as tires, belts, hoses, brakes, and the like. Automobile tires incorporating the silane-functionalized resins are shown to possess excellent results in balancing the properties of rolling resistance, tire wear, and wet braking performance.

  • Patent number: 11561940
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for generating a bridge between analytical models. In an embodiment, a server can extract a first variable dependency schema from a first model (e.g., predictive model or business intelligence report) and a second variable schema from a second model (e.g., predictive model or business intelligence report). The first variable dependency schema includes a first definition of a relationship between a first variable and a second variable. The server can compare the first variable dependency schema and the second variable dependency schema. Furthermore, the server can generate a modification to be made in the second variable dependency schema based on the first definition of the relationship between the first and second variable and outputs the modification to be made to the second variable dependency schema.

  • Publication number: 20230014577
Abstract: A directional illuminator includes a light source, a pupil-replicating lightguide, and a tiltable reflector coupling the light source to the pupil-replicating lightguide. The exit beam angle of the light outputted by the pupil-replicating lightguide follows the in-coupling angle, and accordingly depends on the tilting angle of the tiltable reflector. The directional illuminator with steered light beam may be used to illuminate a display panel. Steering the illuminating light by the tiltable reflector enables one to steer the exit pupil of the display device to match the user's eye location(s).

  • Publication number: 20230021276
Abstract: A disclosed vehicle component may include at least one split-ring resonator, which may be embedded within a material. The split ring resonator may be formed from a three-dimensional (3D) monolithic carbonaceous growth and may detect an electromagnetic ping emitted from a user device. The split ring resonator may generate an electromagnetic return signal in response to the electromagnetic ping. The electromagnetic return signal may indicate a state of the material in a position proximate to a respective split ring resonator. In some aspects, the split-ring resonator may resonate at a first frequency in response to the electromagnetic ping when the material is in a first state, and may resonate at a second frequency in response to the electromagnetic ping when the material is in a second state. A resonant frequency of the 3D monolithic carbonaceous growth may be based on physical characteristics of the material.

  • Publication number: 20230015615
Abstract: A waveguide illuminator includes adjacent linear and slab waveguide areas. An input light beam is guided in a linear waveguide, is split into a plurality of sub-beams to propagate in individual linear waveguides to a slab waveguide area and form an output light beam in the slab waveguide area. An array of out-couplers is disposed in the slab waveguide area. The array of out-couplers out-couples portions of the output light beam forms an array of out-coupled beam portions for illuminating a display panel. Locations of the array of out-couplers are coordinated with locations of individual pixels of the display panel, thereby improving efficiency of light utilization by the display panel.
