Abstract: The present disclosure describes an apparatus and method for an exercise mat that includes a first side and an opposed second side. The first side and second side are connected by at least one side edge. The first side has a surface constructed to slip when interfacing with an external support surface and the second side has a non-slip surface. The second side provides a non-slip surface when positioned to interface with the external support surface and with the first side of another mat. The mat is hand portable with size and dimensions limited. The first side has markings that define a base of support for positioning on the mat.
