  • Publication number: 20070254095
Abstract: A catalyst filling method in a micro channel and a reformer manufactured by the method. The catalyst is filled in the micro channel using water, and unidirectional pressure is applied to the catalyst in the micro channel to fill the micro channel with high density. The catalyst in the micro channel is dried. The method according to the present invention allows uniformly filling the catalyst particles in the micro channel of the reformer with high density, increasing the reactive surface area of the catalyst particles with the fuel, thereby allowing highly efficient reforming effect.

  • Publication number: 20070087243
Abstract: The invention provides an electronic apparatus having a fuel cell which sufficiently supplies air to the fuel cell without a separate air pump or fan. In the electronic apparatus, a cooling fan cools heat-generating parts. A guide bracket guides wind of the cooling fan, upon having cooled the heat-generating parts, toward a fuel cell. The invention sufficiently supplies air to the fuel cell without a separate air pump or fan, thereby ensuring smooth chemical reaction of the fuel cell. Also, the invention supplies hot air to the fuel cell, thereby further elevating capability of the fuel cell. In addition, the invention allows reduction in noise and size.

  • Publication number: 20070087235
Abstract: The invention relates to a micro multi-layered thin film hydrogen fuel cell system, which includes a reformer comprising a flow path formed at a side of a substrate and a catalyst in the flow path to reform a fuel into hydrogen. The fuel cell system also includes a cell for generating current using the hydrogen from the reformer. The cell comprises a pair of first and second substrates covering the substrate of the reformer with a membrane electrode assembly disposed between the pair of substrates with a catalyst formed thereon. The fuel cell system further includes a combustor for burning remaining fuel gas to generate heat. The combustor comprises a substrate disposed at an outer side of the second substrate of the cell, and a flow path formed in the substrate with a catalyst formed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20070081929
Abstract: The invention relates to a thin micro reforming apparatus used in a fuel cell system with decreased back pressure in an evaporator thereof. In the reforming apparatus, a substrate has a flow path therein and a fuel inlet portion for introducing fuel into the flow path of the substrate. An evaporator includes a gas expansion part which gasifies the liquid fuel and a back pressure accommodation part which accommodates back pressure during the gasification to block the influence of the back pressure to the fuel inlet portion. A reformer has a flow path formed downstream of the evaporator, reforming fuel into hydrogen gas via heat absorption reaction. A CO remover has a flow path formed downstream of the reformer, removing CO gas contained in the hydrogen gas via heat generation reaction. A cover is attached to an upper part of the substrate to seal the substrate from the external environment.

  • Publication number: 20070077186
Abstract: A thin type reforming apparatus used for a fuel cell is provided. In the thin type reforming apparatus, a substrate has a passage formed therein, and a fuel inlet introduces fuel to the passage. An evaporator is disposed within the substrate downstream of the fuel inlet, and includes a bubble remover for imparting a flow resistance to the fuel in a liquid state, removing bubbles and vaporizing the fuel. A reformer has a passage formed downstream of the evaporator, and reforms the fuel to hydrogen gas through a heat absorbing reaction. A CO remover has a passage formed downstream of the reformer and removes CO gas included in the hydrogen gas through a heat radiating reaction. A cover covers an upper portion of the substrate and sealing the passages from an outside.

  • Publication number: 20070071659
Abstract: The invention relates to a thin micro reforming apparatus used in a fuel cell system. The reforming apparatus includes a substrate having a flow path formed therein, and a fuel inlet portion for introducing fuel to the flow path of the substrate. The fuel inlet portion allows the fuel to flow through a predetermined length of a channel, thereby preheating the fuel. The reforming apparatus also includes an evaporator having a flow path for gasifying liquid fuel, and a reformer for reforming fuel into hydrogen gas via heat absorption reaction. The reforming apparatus further includes a CO remover for removing CO gas contained in the hydrogen gas via heat generation reaction, and a cover for sealing the flow paths of the substrate. The channel of the fuel inlet portion surrounds the evaporator, reformer and CO remover, thereby facilitating insulation at the sides of the reforming apparatus and increasing heat efficiency.
