    Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for exchanging a short messaging service (SMS) message. To do this, when a sender edits SMS message data which is longer than the length regulated in an SMS message transmission standard, the SMS message data is compressed using Huffman coding and transmitted. A base transceiver station (BTS) connected to a recipient's mobile station (MS), which has received the compressed SMS message data, restores the SMS message data by decoding the compressed SMS message data and transmits the restored SMS message data to the recipient's MS. Accordingly, SMS message data longer than the length regulated in the SMS message transmission standard can be exchanged, and in exchanging of the compressed SMS message data, a processing time of the compressed SMS message data can be reduced, and power consumption of a recipient's MS due to the processing of the compressed SMS message data can be reduced.

    Abstract: Transmitting and receiving apparatuses for PAPR reduction and an adaptive PAPR control method thereof are provided. Prior to transmission, the transmitting apparatus limits the peak of a multi-carrier modulated signal using a mapping function that increases an output value with an input value and converges the output value to a predetermined value. The receiving apparatus receives the peak-limited signal, recovers the peak of the signal using a demapping function of the mapping function, and recovers data from the peak-recovered signal according to the multi-carrier modulation scheme used. According to the adaptive PAPR control method, a scaling factor can be set variably for the mapping function and the demapping function according to a sub-carrier modulation scheme.

A coupler couples the signals output from the attenuators with each other and outputs a coupled signal. The terminal receives the coupled signal and demodulates the received signal. A computer is connected to the terminal, and monitors an operation state of the terminal while receiving the signal from the base station, and performs an error check for determining if an error exists in the signal received in the terminal.

The vapor generating chamber of cylindrical shape contains liquid alcohol supplied from an outer source and includes a fan installed above the surface of the liquid alcohol. The heater installed below the vapor generating chamber heats the liquid alcohol contained in the vapor generating chamber at a temperature lower than the boiling point of the liquid alcohol. The process chamber communicates with the vapor generating chamber through a plurality of fluid ducts and includes a body and a cover plate for covering the body. The gas supplier generates heated nitrogen gas and supplies the gas in order to transfer the heated nitrogen gas and the alcohol vapors to the fluid ducts which are connected to the process chamber. The drain vessel communicates with the bottom of the body of the process chamber and also with the bottom of the vapor generating chamber.
