  • Publication number: 20100149144
Abstract: A plasma display is disclosed. In one aspect, the display includes a scan driving board that applies a sustain pulse to a scan electrode during a sustain period and a sustain driving board that applies a sustain pulse to a sustain electrode during the sustain period. The scan driving board and the sustain driving board are connected by a harness. Ground wires are disposed at both sides of the harness and main path wires are disposed between the ground wires.

  • Publication number: 20090102754
Abstract: A method for driving a single frame of a plasma display device, the frame including a plurality of subfields, and each subfield including a reset period, an address period, and a sustain period. The method shortens an increasing time of at least one sustain pulse including the last sustain pulse among a plurality of sustain pulses, to be supplied to the sustain period of the respective subfields, and lengthens the increasing times of the rest of the sustain pulses.

  • Publication number: 20080174521
Abstract: A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) and a driving method thereof secures a drive time and improves contrast. One frame is divided into a plurality of sub fields. Each of the sub fields includes: a reset period to supply a pulse having a voltage less than or equal to a sustain voltage to scan electrodes and sustain electrodes to initialize a discharge cell; an address period to sequentially supply a scan pulse to the scan electrodes and to supply a data pulse to the address electrodes to select discharge cells to be turned-off; and a sustain period to generate a sustain discharge in discharge cells, which have not been selected during the address period while alternately supplying a sustain pulse having a negative sustain voltage to the scan and sustain electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20080074352
Abstract: A method for driving a plasma display panel and a plasma display panel driven by the method. Discharge cells are formed where address electrodes cross over parallel pairs of sustain electrode. The panel is driven during frames. A unit frame in a display period includes a plurality of subfields each having a grey scale weight value to generate a time division grey scale. Each of the subfields includes a reset period, an address period, and a sustain discharge period. The reset period may be a main reset period, during which all of the discharge cells are initialized, or an auxiliary reset period, during which only discharge cells selected in a preceding subfield are initialized. During the auxiliary reset period, an erase pulse is applied to the address electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20070216609
Abstract: An apparatus for driving a plasma display panel is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes i) first and second electrodes configured to generate a sustain discharge in a frame which includes a plurality of subfields and ii) a driver configured to provide a series of driving pulses to at least one of the first and second electrodes in at least one of the plurality of subfields. At least the last one of the series of driving pulses has a greater rising and/or falling time than those of the remaining driving pulses. According to at least one embodiment, the rising or falling time of the last one or several sustain pulse(s) applied to sustain electrodes during a sustain discharge period of one or more subfields is adjusted to be greater than those of the other sustain pulses, thereby reducing the appearance of an afterimage.
