  • Patent number: 8035122
Abstract: The present invention relates to light diffusion type light emitting diodes, more particularly, to a light emitting device having a large divergence angle by widely spreading an emitted light from a single color to a white color and a method thereof. The light emitting diode including the encapsulating layer according to the present invention is characterized by including at least two materials with different characteristics. According to the present invention, an encapsulating material for light emitting diode is mixed with at least two materials with a different polarity or a refractive index to easily form a light emitting diode. In addition, the light emitting diode die is bonded on the bottom surface of a cup, and an encapsulating material and microspheres are dispersed in the vicinity and upper portion of the light emitting diode and the entire light emitting diode, therefore the light emitting diode has a large and uniform divergence angle due to a light uniformly scattered and refracted.

  • Patent number: 6512076
Abstract: Disclosed are polyarylene ether sulfides and polyarylene ether sulfones for optical device and a method for preparing the same. Polyarylene ether sulfides containing fluorine and polyarylene ether sulfones containing fluorine are synthesized through polycondensation of pentafluorophenyl sulfide and pentafluorophenyl sulfone monomer with dihydroxy monomer. In addition, by attaching ethynyl phenol and phenylethynylphenol to terminals of the high molecular weight polymer, solvent resistance of the polymer is increased. Thus, the high molecular weight polymers prepared by very simplified process have low light loss, excellent resistance for heat, solvent and water, and so can be used to manufacture inactive optical waveguide devices.

  • Patent number: 6329294
Abstract: A photoresist mask removing method for effectively removing polymers produced as by-products during etching of a metal layer includes processing the polymers prior to removal to facilitate removal thereof. To remove the photoresist mask remaining on a semiconductor substrate after the metal layer is dry-etched in an etching chamber, the semiconductor substrate is preferably conveyed from the etching chamber to an ashing chamber without vacuum break. The semiconductor substrate is pretreated by supplying N2 gas into the ashing chamber under the vacuum state without applying RF power to the ashing chamber to blow the N2 gas on the semiconductor substrate heated up to a predetermined temperature. This pretreatment modifies the polymer by-products to facilitate removal thereof during ashing. The photoresist mask and the polymer by-products are removed by ashing in the ashing chamber.

  • Patent number: 6229118
Abstract: A wafer handling apparatus prevents polymers from sticking to the handler which conveys a wafer into/from a process chamber in which the wafer is treated. The wafer handler has an arm which is rotatably driven and an effector integral with the arm. The wafer is supported on the effector via a vacuum chuck formed by vacuum holes in the effector. The temperature of the handler is controlled to be identical to that inside the process chamber. The temperature controlling system has an electric heater for heating the effector and a current supplying apparatus which intermittently supplies current to the heater to maintain the temperature of the effector. Because the temperature of the handler is maintained at least as high as that inside the process chamber, polymers floating in the process chamber are prevented from sticking to the handler.
