  • Publication number: 20110261907
Abstract: A wireless wake-up system and an operation method thereof are provided to optimize power consumption when wireless data is received. The wireless wake-up system activates a wake-up detection module and then compares a wireless input signal received through an antenna with a pre-stored reference value. If the wireless input signal is equal to the reference value, the wireless wake-up system determines that the input signal is a wake-up signal with a low bit rate, and then generates a wake-up command corresponding to the wake-up signal. Also, the wireless wake-up system activates a selected module kept in an inactive state by sending the wake-up command to the selected module. The activated module may be a microcontroller unit (MCU). When the MCU is activated, the wireless wake-up system may inactivate the wake-up detection module.

  • Patent number: 8028552
Abstract: Provided are a structure of an automobile electronic key for security and a method for performing the function thereof. It is determined whether at least one of a driver seat door closing signal and a brake pedal signal is on. A key fob of an automobile is requested to send the ID thereof, and the ID is received from the key fob when at least one of the driver seat door closing signal and the brake pedal signal is on. The key fob is authenticated using the received ID. An actuator is driven to move a locking member such that a car key is switched to a rotatable state when the key fob passes authentication. The actuator is driven to move the locking member such that the car key is switched to an unrotatable state when the key fob does not pass authentication.

  • Publication number: 20110208413
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for starting an engine of an automobile using a start-button without a normal car key. In the apparatus and method, it is determined whether plural signals are on when the start-button is on. A key FOB is requested to transmit an ID, receive the ID from the key FOB, and perform authentication on the key FOB using the received ID when the signals are on. Power is provided to a starting motor of the automobile and a driving signal is applied to a motor driver for driving a motor positioned within a key cylinder of the apparatus for starting the automobile when the key FOB passes authentication. A shaft is driven according to the operation of the motor to operate the starting motor to start the automobile.

  • Publication number: 20110156885
Abstract: Provided are a bidirectional remote control system and method using a mobile interface device, while allowing a remote control over a control target even when a user and the control target are separated beyond a visible range, allowing an automatic control over the control target within a given distance between a user and the control target, and allowing a user to monitor operating status of the control target. The mobile interface device receives a remote control command from a portable electronic apparatus through a short range wireless communication or creates the remote control command when detecting an approach to the control target within a given distance. Then the mobile interface device sends the remote control command to an electronic control unit (ECU) in the control target through a radio frequency (RF) communication.

  • Publication number: 20110156865
Abstract: Provided are a wireless control system and method using multiple fingerprint recognition and thus improving security and convenience by controlling a control target depending on a multiple fingerprint inputted by a user. In the wireless control method for a selected control target, a wireless control device recognizes a multiple fingerprint by receiving two or more fingerprints from a user through a fingerprint scan sensor. Then the wireless control device performs an authentication by determining whether the recognized multiple fingerprint is pre-registered. In case of a success authentication, the wireless control device creates a wireless control command for controlling a function corresponding to the recognized multiple fingerprint, and then sends the created command to a controller of the control target.

  • Publication number: 20110060481
Abstract: An antitheft method and system for motorcycles are provided. The antitheft method and system for motorcycles authenticate an electronic identifier when power-up of a motorcycle or engine start-up is sensed and cut off the power-up or engine start-up if the power-up or engine start-up is not authenticated. An electronic control unit can generate a theft alarm signal in case of unauthenticated power-up or engine start-up. The motorcycle engine is automatically stopped if the engine is started through an illegal method, and thus the motorcycle is prevented from being stolen. Further, a user can confirm the electronic identifier and start the motorcycle without inserting a key into a key cylinder, and thus the user can start the motorcycle easily and rapidly.

  • Publication number: 20090261945
Abstract: Provided are a passive entry system for changing a scan method to reduce battery consumption of a smart key and a method for performing a function thereof. In the passive entry system, a smart key ECU periodically transmits a low-frequency scan signal for detecting the smart key. When the smart key being in a slip state is located within a receiving radius of the scan signal, the smart key receives the scan signal and is converted into an active state. Battery consumption of the smart key can be reduced because the smart key normally being in the slip state is converted into the active state when receiving the scan signal from the smart key ECU. Furthermore, the smart key is converted into the active state only within the low-frequency scan signal receiving radius formed near an automobile and requests the smart key ECU to perform a function of the automobile, for example, a function of closing/opening doors. Accordingly, a reliable passive entry system can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20080309453
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a method for starting automobile engine by a radio communication between an automobile smart key and a smart key electronic control unit (ECU). According to this invention, it is decided whether or not a transmission lever position signal and a break pedal signal are ON. The smart key ECU requests a smart key for a smart key ID when both signals are ON, and receives the smart key ID from the smart key. Then the smart key ECU performs the verification of the smart key using the received smart key ID and turns the starting control relay ON when the smart key is verified. Additionally, when the ignition switch is turned ON within the prescribed time after the starting control relay is turned ON, the smart key ECU supplies the electric power from the ignition switch to the starting motor, thus starting the automobile engine.
