Abstract: The present invention relates to a ball paper clip for holding together two or more sheets of paper as using a ball. A clip ball is fitted into a guide hole formed in a clip body, and the papers are inserted between the clip ball and a support plate, so that the papers are clamped due to a natural phenomenon that the clip ball moves toward the lower end of the guide hole by gravity. The clip body or the clip ball is constructed to generate magnetic force so as to hold wire clips or pushpins.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a mobile terminal including: a first casing having a key input unit with a plurality of keys; a second casing having a display unit for displaying characters and images; a connecting member having its one end hinge-connected to the first casing to overlap with the first casing, and its other end connected to contact one area of the second casing; a rotating means provided between one area of the second casing and the other end of the connecting member, for rotating the second casing along a contact surface to the connecting member within a predetermined angle; and a signal processing device for converting an image displayed on the display unit, when the second casing is rotated by the rotating means. The mobile terminal can mechanically change the position of the display unit in the horizontal or vertical direction to vary the magnitude of the image displayed on the display unit, so that the user can watch movies, motion pictures and contents through a larger screen.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital audio player with improved user friendliness through increased compactness and wearability, and more particularly, to a digital audio player wherein its main module alone can be used as a digital audio player and can also be readily operated as a headset-type digital audio player by dividing the main module into two sections and combining the divided sections of the main module with a headset module at both sides of the headset module, respectively. According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that the user can simply select either a stand-alone or headset style for the digital audio player according to the user's preference.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an external storage device. The external storage device includes a non-volatile storage medium for storing digital data, a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port for providing an interface with an external apparatus, and an expansion slot for accommodating a conventional memory module. The external storage device provides access channels complying with USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) specifications so that the external apparatus accesses the non-volatile storage medium and the memory module, inserted into the expansion slot, through the USB port. When the external storage device receives a medium access command from the external apparatus through the USB port, the external storage device determines whether the medium access command aims to access the non-volatile storage medium or the memory module inserted into the expansion slot by interpreting the medium access command, and provides an access service corresponding to the medium access command.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a host processing device that has a space for accommodating an external storage medium. The host processing device can be provided with and reproduce media data files from the external storage media connected thereto. The host processing device accesses an external storage medium to read and reproduce media files stored in the external storage medium, and stores, in a certain digital format, media files that are generated by encoding analog signals provided from a tuner module or microphone module in the external storage medium. The host processing device can handle a certain secure measure for protecting copyright for the media files. According to the host processing device, without a large capacity non-volatile storage medium therein, the media files can be reproduced and recorded, and the demand of the copyright protection for the media files can be fulfilled.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for supporting a PC communication and internet service while supporting D-CATV and VOD services by using a settop box connected to a network for D-CATV and VOD services, without a separate communication equipment. The apparatus includes a PC interface installed in the settop box to communicate with the PC; and an internet gateway prepared at a head end of the D-CATV to provide an internet service channel between a backbone internet and a D-CATV subscriber. The settop box includes a controller for analyzing a previously designated VC (Virtual Channel) cell for SLIP (Serial Line Internet Protocol) within of data received from the network and for transmitting the VC cell together with a SLIP header to the PC. The controller also is for separating the SLIP header from the data received from the PC and for transmitting to the network the designated VC cell together with an IP (Internet Protocol)-over-ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) header.
