Patent number: 11163144Abstract: The present subject matter includes a method of focusing of an optical imaging apparatus. The method comprises causing illumination of an object using an illuminating beam to thereby cause generation of a scattered beam. A first set of luminous parameters are derived from a first detected position of a luminous representation formed by the scattered beam from the object. The illumination-beam is focused upon the object by triggering a movement of the object along an optical-axis in a first direction, the first direction being based a numerical-representation of the first set of luminous parameters. A second set of luminous parameters are derived from a second detected position of the luminous-representation of the object, the second detected position being related to the first detected position and the movement of the object. The focusing of the illumination beam is ceased based at-least on a numerical-representation of the second set of luminous parameters.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2021Date of Patent: November 2, 2021Assignee: APPLEJACK 199 L.P.Inventors: Mihail Mihaylov, Wojciech J Walecki, Jae Ryu

Publication number: 20090071334Abstract: A polar-substance-permselective membrane includes a porous support and an active-membrane material. The active-membrane material fills the pores of the porous support to render the support substantially impermeable to non-polar gases at a moderate pressure gradient (e.g., at least 70 kPa) when the hydrophilic active-membrane material is wet. In a particular embodiment the membrane is water-permselective and the active-membrane material is hydrophilic. Water-recovery system and processes utilizing these water-permselective membranes can be used to selectively remove water from hot gas streams at the feed side, and collect water at the permeate side with extremely high energy efficiency. The membrane is particularly useful for in-situ extraction of water molecules directly from hot exhaust streams. The produced steam, or steam and air mixtures can be used as a feedstock in the process of converting liquid hydrocarbons into hydrogen-rich gas streams.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 16, 2008Publication date: March 19, 2009Applicant: Aspen Systems, Inc.Inventor: Jae Ryu

Publication number: 20050094599Abstract: A method for handoff between packet data serving nodes (PDSNs) The method for handoff between packet data serving nodes (PDSNs) provides packet services to a mobile node. A new PDSN receives subscriber information of a mobile node from at least one or more old PDSNs forming a communications network. The new PDSN recognizes the mobile node moving into a concerned area of the new PDSN and then transmits recognition information on the mobile node to an old PDSN to which the mobile node was connected. All received information on the mobile node is transmitted by the old PDSN based on the recognition information. A communication channel is established with the mobile node based on the received information. In the method, handoff is performed without reestablishing PPP. Accordingly, handoff between PDSNs can be performed faster, reducing the time needed for establishing a PPP session with a terminal and for terminating a previously set up PPP session.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 19, 2004Publication date: May 5, 2005Inventors: Jae Ryu, Won Ryu, Hun Lee
