  • Publication number: 20040169532
Abstract: Provided is a device for controlling a frequency response by scaling an impedance. The device includes a filter and a duty ratio controller. The filter generates an output signal after removing a frequency from an input signal, and comprises a first impedance component and a switch. The switch, which is serially connected to the first impedance component, is switched on or off in response to a duty-controlled clock signal. The duty ratio controller receives a clock signal, controls a duty ratio of the clock signal, and generates the duty-controlled clock signal. The duty ratio controller comprises a flip-flop, which has a clock terminal that receives the clock signal, and a reset terminal, which receives a delayed signal obtained after delaying the clock signal by a time delay. The duty ratio controller further comprises a delay component that receives the clock signal, generates the delayed signal, and controls the time delay in response to a duty control signal.

  • Publication number: 20040114198
Abstract: An image processing system and an image processing method which correct a moiré in an image taken from a displayed image. An imaging taking apparatus takes an image of an image displayed by an image displaying apparatus and an optical characteristic changing apparatus is provided between the image taking apparatus and the image displaying apparatus. A lightpath of the displayed image is changed before the image of the displayed image is taken and an image processor receives a plurality of the taken images from the image taking apparatus and generates a processed image with a removed moiré by correcting or superposing the plurality of the images. Thus, a processed image, in which a moiré of the displayed image is removed, is promptly obtainable, and a quality of the taken image is increased. The image processing system and method are adaptable to various systems for inspection and/or measurement.

  • Patent number: 6713743
Abstract: Disclosed is an atomic force microscope. A Fabry-Perot interferometer where the intensity of light reflected at a cantilever through an optical fiber varies sensitively to a displacement of the cantilever is constructed to accurately measure a distance between the optical fiber and the cantilever. A Fabry-Perot resonator is formed by the optical fiber having an end of a concave mirror shape and a reflective surface of the cantilever. A displacement of a cantilever tip is measured by detecting a signal reflected at the resonator and a feedback signal corresponding to a variation in the displacement of the cantilever tip is generated. The displacement of the cantilever tip is kept constant by actuating a piezoelectric element in a Z-axis direction.

  • Publication number: 20030128931
Abstract: This invention provides an optical fiber block that includes an optical-fiber-alignment portion and a stress-reduction-depth portion. In the optical-fiber-alignment portion, a V groove array is arranged to accommodate the non-coated fiber portion of a ribbon fiber. The V groove array is formed by primary and secondary wet-etching processes on a silicon wafer, and further includes first V grooves at both sides and second V grooves different from the first V grooves disposed between the first V grooves. Meanwhile, the stress-reduction-depth portion is formed by another wet etching, extending to a predetermined depth from the optical-fiber-alignment portion, for reducing stress caused by a variation in the coating thickness of the optical fibers.
