    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for encoding/decoding scalable digital audio are disclosed. An apparatus for decoding scalable digital audio according to the present invention includes: an audio packet reception unit configured to receive a digital audio packet, including a plurality of pieces of direct audio channel data mapped to respective physical channels and a plurality of pieces of indirect audio channel data indirectly mapped to respective physical channels; an indirect audio channel extraction unit configured to extract the digital audio packet from the pieces of indirect audio channel data; an indirect audio channel decoding unit configured to generate pieces of audio channel data corresponding to a number of physical channels more than the number of pieces of indirect audio channel data using the pieces of indirect audio channel data; and an audio channel output unit configured to match the pieces of audio channel data to the respective physical channels and perform output.

    Abstract: A differentiator in a comb filter is provided having a reduced size and an increased operating speed. The differentiator can include a first delay for receiving and delaying a signal in a number of steps corresponding to a number of stages. The first delay selectively forwards a plurality of delayed signals corresponding to the number of stages. A selector receives the delayed signals from the first delay, and selectively forwards one of the delayed signals. An operator logically processes a signal from the selector and a feed-back signal in response to an external control signal. A second delay receives, delays and forwards a signal from the operator, and a logic circuit subjects a signal from the second delay to a logical operation and feeds back an output to a reception terminal on the operator.

    Abstract: An interpolation digital filter for an audio CODEC uses a bit serial method for an audio CODEC system with a clock signal of 256 FS. The interpolation digital filter converts a 32-bits data signal of sampling frequency of 1 FS to a 32-bit data signal of the sampling frequency of 8 FS using a clock signal of 256 FS in a filter unit. Therefore, the present invention reduces the size of the system and reduces the cost.
