Abstract: A system and method for establishing communication between electronic devices via a network are disclosed. In one embodiment, a first request from a first electronic device is received. Further, a request from at least one other electronic device is received. The first request and the request from the at least one other electronic device are initiated by tapping and holding a button within an application for at least a predefined time in the first electronic device and the at least one other electronic device, respectively. Furthermore, communication is established between the first electronic device and at least one other electronic device when a distance between the first electronic device and the at least one other electronic device is less than a predefined distance and the request from the at least one other electronic device is received within a time interval from time of the first request.
