  • Patent number: 11358845
Abstract: A device such as an autonomous mobile device may include an extensible mast or other structure that changes length during operation. A cable between electronics at the ends of the structure includes a data line for signals and a power line for electrical power. A deployed length of the cable is determined and used to determine the phase of an antinoise signal that is radiated using the power line. The antinoise signal destructively interferes with at least a portion of the radiated noise from the data line, reducing the overall amplitude of the radiated noise. The deployed length may also be used to adjust other parameters, such as equalizer settings for one or more of a transmitter or receiver that is connected to the data line.

  • Patent number: 11211700
Abstract: Technologies for dynamic noise cancelation using noise patterns are described. One device includes a moveable assembly having first and second degrees of freedom. A component within the base assembly radiates electromagnetic energy in a radiation pattern as a noise source when operating and an antenna, coupled to a receiver, is disposed on the support member. The processing device, using noise profile data about the radiation pattern of the noise source, determines that the component is operating and a current angle between the component and the antenna. The processing device determines a difference value between the current angle and the first angle and causes the moveable assembly to move at least one of the antenna or the base assembly according to the difference value.

  • Patent number: 10531316
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for using shared antennas for multi-protocol communication. Example devices may include a first antenna, a second antenna, memory and at least one processor configured to access the memory and execute computer-executable instructions to determine a first request for a first wireless radio to transmit first data for a first duration, determine a second request for a second wireless radio to receive second data during the first duration, and determine that a first signal strength associated with the first wireless radio is less than or equal to a first threshold. Certain embodiments may be configured to determine that communication associated with the first wireless radio has a higher priority than communication associated with the second wireless radio, cause the first wireless radio to transmit the first data using a first antenna for the first duration, and cause a second antenna to be idle.

  • Patent number: 10356142
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for streaming media content. The systems, methods, and computer-readable media described herein may improve user experiences and reduce device failures by mitigating problems between devices. In an example method described herein, a media streaming device may be connected to a display device in order to facilitate streaming of content. A processing apparatus of the media streaming device may determine that the display device is not presenting content streamed from the media streaming device and in turn switch the antenna radiation pattern from a first pattern to a second pattern.

  • Patent number: 10249991
Abstract: High-speed data connectors having a variety of different implementations to address unwanted electromagnetic radiation and interference are described. In some instances, resonant unit structures are added within the existing connector cavity that absorb and dampen unwanted electromagnetic radiation. In other instances, resonant unit structures are added to the exterior of the connector to reduce and eliminate surface currents that can occur on the solid metal shield of the connector. In these and other instances, the resonant unit structure can be formed from a stacked structure having a resonant structure arranged in close proximity to some of the connector pins to absorb unwanted radiation from those pins. The absorbed energy is transferred to ground through other components in the stack. In still other instances, various different materials are provided to replace the conventional plastic material that is used to keep the connector pins in place and in alignment.

  • Patent number: 9819991
Abstract: A device is described. The device includes a data interface connector, an application processor, and interface circuitry. The application processor can receive signals via an antenna. The interface circuitry can be coupled between the application processor and the data interface connector. The data interface circuitry can determine a change in a signal property of one of the signals, the change being caused by an impedance mismatch between the data interface connector and a media consumption device. The data interface circuitry can also send the application processor a signal property setting corresponding with the change. The application processor can adjust the signal property of a subsequent one of the signals, in response to the signal property setting from the interface circuitry, to obtain an adjusted signal. The application processor can also send the adjusted signal to the media consumption device.

  • Patent number: 9628199
Abstract: A processing device detects an occurrence of the first set of use conditions associated with a power supply line coupled between a power source and a power sink in a user device. The processing device sets a tunable decoupling capacitor on the power supply line to a first capacitance value to reduce a level of electromagnetic interference on the power supply line at a first frequency corresponding to the first capacitance value. When the processing device detects a change from the first set of use conditions associated with the power supply line to a second set of use conditions, the processing device sets the tunable decoupling capacitor to a second capacitance value to reduce a level of electromagnetic interference on the power supply line at a second frequency corresponding to the second capacitance value.
