  • Publication number: 20230359951
Abstract: Seat-assignment based resource tracking is used to track usage, or consumption, of resources under a license. An account includes a license for a plurality of resources. An allotment is generated under the account and populated with a plurality of seats. Populating the allotment with the plurality of seats automatically authorizes the populated plurality of seats for access to a portion of the plurality of resources. When the plurality of resources are accessed by a device associated with a seat of the authorized plurality of seats, the usage of the plurality of resources by the device is tracked.

  • Publication number: 20220322970
Abstract: The present invention comprises a novel kit with a wearable unit along with associated intelligent entities and non-intrusive tremor relieving interventions. The interventions include an automatically controllable TENS intervention unit with associated cables and electrodes and a buzzer. The wearable unit along with associated intelligent entities detects involuntary movement signals (tremors) in the limbs by measuring the acceleration in multiple dimensions, and ingeniously analyzes the accelerations to identify and isolate occurrences of tremors. This information is analyzed and monitored over time to provide significant insight about the tremors such as the dominant frequency (or frequencies), percent time with tremor, median tremor duration, and intensity. The TENS unit provides electrical stimulation which can dampen the intensity of involuntary movement and/or temporarily suspend tremor activity. This (TENS) unit can be manually or automatically controlled.

  • Patent number: 10750001
Abstract: A contact-note application is disclosed herein that runs in a computing device. When a phone call event occurs, the contact-note application is notified and responsively surfaces a prompt over a user interface to a phone call application. When the prompt is selected, the contact-note application surfaces a user interface to the contact-note application. The user interface provides the end-user with a view of a note associated with a contact on the phone call such that they user may create, edit, and consume the note.

  • Patent number: 8095565
Abstract: Metadata is used to create customized user interface (UI) portions for an application. The metadata may be XML-based and can be interpreted and then rendered to implement a customized UI that also supports data binding between data and the UI controls. Once created, the metadata is processed by a rendering engine to display the UI controls. An interpreter may be used to interpret the metadata file before it is sent to the rendering engine. Neither the rendering engine nor the interpreter needs knowledge of the host application and provides support for arbitrary metadata driven UI. The metadata schema may include mechanisms to create custom controls for the UI; programmatically modify the UI controls by providing access to a code-behind assembly as well as support event handling for the UI controls.

  • Patent number: 7711717
Abstract: Recurring appointment items in a calendaring application are synchronized and recorded in a backend Line Of Business (LOB) service. Items marked in the calendaring application for time recording are used to create a recurring bound item with extended properties. A sweeper module scans on every run the mailbox for such recurring bound items. Occurrences of bound recurring appointments, which occur between the last scan and the current scan, are determined and detached from the corresponding recurring series, such that standalone bound items, are created for such occurrences that can be recognized by an LOB application. Entries for bound items are retrieved from a client data store and synchronized it with the backend LOB service through a create, update, or delete operation request.

  • Publication number: 20090300649
Abstract: Allowing multiple software applications to share an object of an application system is provided. Each of the multiple software applications is associated with a line of business (LOB) system and is associated with a solution ID. The application system may receive a request to establish a first binding between the object and a first LOB entity instance for a first software application. The first binding between the object and the first LOB entity instance may then be established. The application system may further receive a request to establish a second binding between the object and a second LOB entity instance for a second software application. The second binding between the object and the second LOB entity instance will be established when the first and second software applications have matching solution IDs and compatible sharing levels to the object. The application system may therefore establish user interface and data sharing between the first and second LOB entity instances in the object.

  • Publication number: 20050200843
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus, a system and a method for detecting the presence or absence of trace elements in a biological sample using Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy. The trace elements are used to develop a signature profile which is analyzed directly or compared with the known profile of a standard. In one aspect of the invention, the apparatus, system and method are used to detect malignant cancer cells in vivo.

  • Publication number: 20050089260
Abstract: A sensing element, a method of making a sensing element, and a fiber optic sensor incorporating the sensing element are described. The sensor can be used for the quantitative detection of NO2 in a mixture of gases. The sensing element can be made by incorporating a diazotizing reagent which reacts with nitrous ions to produce a diazo compound and a coupling reagent which couples with the diazo compound to produce an azo dye into a sol and allowing the sol to form an optically transparent gel. The sensing element changes color in the presence of NO2 gas. The temporal response of the absorption spectrum at various NO2 concentrations has also been recorded and analyzed. Sensors having different design configurations are described. The sensing element can detect NO2 gas at levels of parts per billion.

  • Patent number: 6382559
Abstract: A thrust vectoring mechanism to vector thrust and control discharge throat area includes four or more vanes mounted across the outlet of a nozzle in a cascade arrangement. The mechanism further includes a rod to control pivoting of each of the vanes that may be selectively rotated with one or more actuators. The rod includes threading. The vanes each include a drive member that is either toothed to engage the rod threading or defines a camming relationship with a coupling member threaded on the rod. The rod threading, drive members, and coupling members may be arranged to define different pivoting schedules for each of the vanes so that a generally constant throat area may be maintained over a given vector directional range of the vanes. The outlet may be generally rectangular in cross-section and a strut may be mounted across the outlet perpendicular to the pivot axes of the vanes to house the rod, drive members, and/or coupling members.

  • Patent number: 5769317
Abstract: A thrust vectoring system comprising a working fluid source mounted to an aircraft, and a vectoring nozzle connected to the working fluid source which has an extendable conduit defining a passage from an inlet to an outlet. The passage is adjustable so that the direction of the working fluid exiting the outlet is different than the working fluid entering the inlet when the conduit of the vectoring nozzle is extended. This conduit provides a way to change the direction of working fluid exiting the nozzle and correspondingly change the thrust vector of the aircraft. A directing member such as a guide vane or door is mounted to the conduit adjacent the outlet to further direct the working fluid exiting the outlet. Directing members provide a way to refine the thrust vector without changing the extension of the segmented conduit. Another aspect of the present invention is to provide an adapter to connect the vectoring nozzle to a working fluid source with an annular outlet.
