Abstract: A method for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of the REP13E12 repeated sequence, and more particularly, to a method for detecting Mycobacterium tuberculosis in clinical specimen by the PCR amplification of all or some of the REP1 3E1 2 repeated sequence is provided. Since the Mycobacterium tuberculosis detecting method by the PCR amplification for amplifying the REP13E12, which is the repeated sequence cloned from the microbial cells of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which are separated from Korea, shows excellent sensitivity and specificity, it is possible to effectively detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis in specimen using the method.
