  • Publication number: 20180265267
Abstract: A removable lid for selectively sealing a storage vessel is provided, the storage vessel including a base and a continuous sidewall. The removable lid comprises a main body having a bottom surface and a top surface. A tab is movably secured to the main body and the tab is selectively movable between a first position and a second position. A gasket is secured to the bottom surface, and a vent is formed in the gasket. The vent includes an aperture extending from an outer gasket side to an inner gasket side and the vent further includes a vent seal. A sealing protrusion is disposed on the tab. The sealing protrusion includes a sealing face disposed on a distal end of the sealing protrusion, wherein when the tab is disposed in the first position, the sealing face contacts the vent seal and forms a seal with the vent seal to retard fluid flow across the gasket.

  • Patent number: 8568047
Abstract: A retractable instrument in accordance with the disclosure advantageously has a simple construction and fewer pieces or sub-assemblies than known retractable instruments. The retractable instrument includes a barrel that encloses a tool holder. The tool holder has an extension, and a tool extending from the distal end of the extension. A valve selectively covers the tool to protect the tool from environmental conditions. A biasing element is disposed between the valve and the tool holder, the biasing element biases the valve away from the tool holder. A movable closure assembly retains the valve on the extension and selectively allows the lid to open and close. The closure assembly includes a closure ring and a retention ring connected by one or more closure arms. The retention ring is disposed on the tool holder and the retention ring is prevented from sliding off of the tool holder by a retention stop.

  • Patent number: 7736080
Abstract: A writing instrument has a barrel, a flag dispenser partially inserted into the barrel, and a rotating or sliding cover that engages with and covers the flag dispenser. In different positions, the rotating or sliding cover enables various functions of the flag dispenser. For example, the cover may be moved into a position to enable withdrawal of tape flags by a user. The cover may also be configured to move into a position that covers and protects the tape flags. In refillable embodiments of the writing instrument, the cover may also be removed to enable a flip cover portion of the flag dispenser to be opened to provide access to a tape flag chamber.
