  • Patent number: 7661836
Abstract: A combined illuminated table and canopy includes a free-standing table, a canopy adjustably connected to the table and disposed thereabove at an elevated position, and means for illuminating a perimeter of the table such that a top surface of the table becomes illuminated. Such an illuminating means includes a plurality of light-emitting sources attached to the table, a transformer electrically coupled directly to the light-emitting sources, and releasably engaged male and female shafts have detachably abutted first and second contacts. A solar panel is electrically coupled to the first contact, and a contact mechanism is electrically connected to such first and second contacts as well as the existing external supply source in such a manner that the existing external power supply source is automatically disengaged from the light-emitting sources when the first contact is engaged from the second contact.
