  • Publication number: 20090259569
Abstract: A method and system for inventory management includes a communication device at each of a plurality of point of sale locations communicatively coupled to a distribution center. Each communication device stores initial inventory information; periodically determines whether an item has been sold, and when an item has been sold, stores the sold item information; stores accumulated inventory information comprising the initial inventory information and the sold item information; and transmits the accumulated inventory information. The distribution center receives the accumulated inventory information; evaluates a current inventory at each of the point of sale locations using the received accumulated inventory information; identifies a demand information comprising an adequate supply of items to ship to each of the point of sale locations using the associated evaluated current inventory; and programs suppliers to meet the point of sale locations' needs using the demand information.

  • Patent number: 7532881
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for limiting a communication range of a fixed wireless terminal. The method comprises the steps of generating and radio-transmitting communication maintaining data through a transmitting unit in a fixed device; receiving, through a receiving unit of a mobile device, the communication maintaining data transmitted from the fixed device, and judging by a receiving processor whether or not the inputted communication maintaining data corresponds to that stored in the receiving processor; outputting a communication permitting signal from the receiving processor to a CPU when the inputted communication maintaining data corresponds to that stored in the receiving processor, to maintain communication; and outputting a communication forbidding signal from the receiving processor to the CPU when the inputted communication maintaining data does not correspond to that stored in the receiving processor, to interrupt communication.

  • Publication number: 20050250537
Abstract: Systems and techniques for providing a telecommunications service by detecting a permanent subscriber identification module (SIM) card and a transitory SIM card in a wireless telephone. The permanent SIM card includes data associated with a primary user of the wireless telephone for connecting to a wireless network. The transitory SIM card includes data associated with a temporary user of the wireless telephone and having a pre-purchased amount of available airtime.

  • Patent number: 5936516
Abstract: A vibrating apparatus (200) comprises a vibrating element (202), electromagnetic coils (204, 206), driver circuits (210, 212), and a controller (208) coupled to the electromagnetic coils (204, 206) through driver circuits (210, 212). The vibrating element (202) has a first end fixedly mounted to a housing (106) and a second end having a permanent magnet (216) attached thereto. The electromagnetic coil (204) is positioned adjacent to the permanent magnet (216), and the electromagnetic coil (206) is positioned adjacent to the permanent magnet (216) on a side opposite the electromagnetic coil (204). The controller (208) generates signals to the electromagnetic coils (204, 206) through the driver circuits (210, 212) for producing magnetic fields around the electromagnetic coils (204, 206), where the magnetic fields attract and repel the permanent magnet (216) such that the vibrating element (202) vibrates at its resonating frequency.
