Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product to provide a synthetic device ID for a device is provided herein. The method includes receiving a request from the device to obtain a service from a vendor, where the device is associated with an internal device ID. The method further includes generating the synthetic device ID for the device and associating the device, the internal device ID, the vendor, and the synthetic device ID. The method also includes transmitting the synthetic device ID to the vendor, and internally tracking the request based on the association.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a point-to-multipoint communication system having a service provider system and one or more subscriber devices. The one or more subscriber devices include multiple physical layer (PHY) devices that can be used for upstream direction and/or downstream direction transfer of information to and/or from the service provider system. The one or more subscriber devices receive subscriber device configuration information from the service provider system indicating which of these multiple PHY devices are to be used for the upstream direction and/or the downstream direction transfer of the information to and/or from the service provider system. In some situations, the subscriber device configuration information identifies various types of information, such as video, audio, and/or data to provide some examples, to be transferred in the upstream direction and/or the downstream direction and/or one or more PHY devices to be used for transferring the various types of information.

For example, the method may include searching a plurality of channels to locate a message on an active channel for the device, the message being transmitted on each of the plurality of channels; in response to locating the message, analyzing the message to determine a second channel from among the plurality of channels for downloading the operating data for the device, the second channel being different than the first channel; in response to determining the second channel, tuning the device to the second channel; downloading, via the second channel, the operating data for the device; and installing the operating data on the device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for real-time enablement of over-the-top media service applications. An embodiment operates by receiving a device identifier from a customer device including a disabled third-party over-the-top (OTT) application, determining a verification status of the customer device based on the device identifier, determining a customer identifier associated with the customer device, and determining an entitlement status based on the customer identifier. The embodiment further operates by assigning a vendor-issued identifier to the customer identifier, generating a third-party token based on the verification status and the entitlement status, and sending the third-party token to the customer device and a third-party service associated with the disabled third-party OTT application.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes an autonomous mechanism for seamlessly coordinating timing of subscriber devices in a service provider system based on the subscriber devices' physical geographic locations. The service provider system dynamically calibrates local times for subscriber devices in geographic locations around in the world without requiring additional local infrastructure. This calibration allows the subscriber devices to receive customized services specifically tailored to their physical geographic locations from the service provider system. Moreover, this autonomous mechanism allows the subscriber devices to be quickly re-purposed to different physical geographic locations without the need to manually configure each individual subscriber device prior to relocation.
