Patent number: 11807093Abstract: A drive assembly for a vehicle may selectively couple a motor of the vehicle to a mobility assembly of the vehicle. The drive assembly may include a worm gear assembly having a worm engaged with a worm gear. The worm may be operably coupled to the motor of the vehicle, and the worm gear may be selectively coupled to a shaft of the mobility assembly. The drive assembly may be configured to move between a first configuration and a second configuration. In response to the drive assembly being in the first configuration, the worm gear assembly and the shaft of the mobility assembly may be operably coupled, and the worm gear assembly may be configured to selectively transfer power from the motor to the mobility assembly to provide mobility to the vehicle. In response to the drive assembly being in a second configuration, the worm gear assembly and the shaft of the mobility assembly may be decoupled, and the worm gear assembly may be prevented from transferring the power from the motor to the mobility assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2020Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: HUSQVARNA ABInventors: Mark Wagner, Jake Bagwell, Scott Andermann, Hope Guzewicz

Patent number: 11485335Abstract: A riding lawn care vehicle (10) includes first and second drive wheels (32), a steering lever (34), a brake assembly (110), and a mechanical brake linkage assembly (120) including a cable tensioner (250). The brake assembly (110) may be operably coupled to at least one of the first and second drive wheels (32) to enable brakes to be selectively applied to the first and second drive wheels (32) based on a position of the steering lever (34). The cable tensioner (250) may be configured to activate the brake assembly (110) relative to the at least one of the first and second drive wheels (32) in response to the steering lever (34) being moved outwardly to an outboard position. The mechanical linkage assembly (120) may be configured to provide a greater amount of rotation of the cable tensioner (250) than a magnitude of rotation of the steering lever (34) when the steering lever (34) is moved from the inboard position to the outboard position.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2019Date of Patent: November 1, 2022Assignee: HUSQVARNA ABInventors: Jake Bagwell, Mark Wagner, Braxton Reese

Publication number: 20210307251Abstract: A riding lawn care vehicle (10, 310) may include a frame (30, 330), an engine (340, 40), a steering assembly, a support platform (20, 30, 320) and a front platform (348, 48). At least a pair of drive wheels may be operably coupled to the frame (30, 330). The engine (340, 40) is operably coupled to the frame (30, 330) via an engine platform (342, 42). The engine (340, 40) is disposed substantially between the drive wheels to selectively provide drive power to the drive wheels via respective hydraulic pumps (346, 46). The steering assembly includes control levers (50) operably coupled to respective ones of the drive wheels via the respective hydraulic pumps (346, 46). The steering assembly enables steering of the riding lawn care vehicle (10, 310) based on drive speed control of the drive wheels responsive to positioning of the control levers (50).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2021Publication date: October 7, 2021Inventors: Corey Fisher, Brian Downing, Joshua Lawrence, Timothy Wicker, Juan Plasencia, Darren Chandler, Jordan Craven, Travis Lyons, Rick Nelson, Braxton Reese, Juan Rodriguez, Jerry Sandy, Eric Tse, Chris Russell, Steven Benedict, Jake Bagwell
