The packing assembly is configured to receive the biopsy probe. The open inner portion of the support member is configured to engage a portion of both the container tray and the retainer tray simultaneously to hold the container tray and the retainer tray within the open inner portion of the support member to thereby provide a sterile work surface during the biopsy procedure.
