The control signal is sent to a host apparatus. A user interface operation dependent on the control signal is preformed, such as filtering, muting or amplifying an input audio signal to the speaker or switching off the host apparatus. The housing comprises compressible material such that when the compressible material is displaced air movement in the housing is detected by the sensing element.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for facilitating disaster communications. A method may include prioritizing at least one message at a first node operating in a disaster communication mode in accordance with a message prioritization scheme associated with the disaster communication mode. The method may further include selecting a message from the at least one prioritized message based at least in part on the prioritization. The method may additionally include causing the selected message to be sent to a further node via an ad hoc connection. A corresponding apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for facilitating resource security. A method may include monitoring for resource requests by one or more applications on a device. The method may further include determining, based at least in part on the monitoring, that one of the one or more applications has requested access to a resource. The method may additionally include causing the determined resource request to be logged in a log of resource requests by the one or more applications. A corresponding apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: A method for providing access to social content based on membership activity may include receiving information providing corresponding identities of a plurality of members of a group and receiving an indication of a presence threshold defining a number of members of the group that when present enables access to a group related function. The presence threshold may be defined relative to an entirety of a size of the group. The method may further include modifying the presence threshold to determine a quorum value of members that when present enables access to the group related function where the quorum value is determined based on activity of the members of the group over at least a defined time period, and enabling access to the group related function by the members based on presence information related to the members indicating that the quorum value is met. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
