  • Patent number: 4805845
Abstract: After winding of a thread into a package, the thread is severed and, in order to prevent whirling of the thread end around the package, the end portion is interlaced with the package surface during the braking phase of the package. Interlacing is performed by blowing pressure jet against the thread end and the package surface within an interlacing chamber defined by a pivotally mounted shoe from which the pressure jet is emitted.

  • Patent number: 4237686
Abstract: The present invention concerns a false twist apparatus (1) with friction discs (3) arranged at mutual distances on a shaft (2) and with thread guides (4) extending to between the discs (3), for imparting twist to a thread (11) guided friction-contactingly over the friction discs by the thread guides. The thread guides in this arrangement are provided with a concave curvature, as seen with respect to the direction of movement of the twist imparting surface (F).

  • Patent number: 4213573
Abstract: A bobbin revolver for winding textile filaments has a rotatable chuck carrier with a plurality of bobbin chucks. The carrier is rotatable on a central shaft to urge the chucks successively towards a friction drive drum which rotates bobbins on the chucks to wind filament packages thereon. A fluid coupling, comprising co-axial, relatively rotable parts having communicating passages therethrough, is provided around the shaft to pass pressure fluid to and/or from devices on the carrier. The fluid coupling is arranged so that there is no relative rotation of its parts during winding of a package, thereby avoiding disturbance of the contact pressure between a package and the friction drum through sliding friction between the coupling parts.

  • Patent number: 4171201
Abstract: A moveable thread guide element is disposed for movement from a thread receiving position located below a stationary thread guide pin element to a thread-transfer position engaged with the pin element. The moveable thread guide element is pivotally mounted so as to pivot upon engagement with the pin. This allows the thread on the moveable guide element to slide onto the pin element. After transfer, the moveable guide element can be lowered.

  • Patent number: 4116396
Abstract: The yarn traversing guide is slidably mounted within a pair of slats disposed across the face of the drum housing for reciprocating motion. Each slat is provided with a rigid center section and two spring-elastically deflectable end sections. The end sections deflect to a limited degree during reversing of the high speed traversing guide without impairing the life of the traversing guide.

  • Patent number: 3998041
Abstract: A method of, and apparatus for, fabricating a textured yarn or the like comprising a false twist device containing a number of friction disks arranged in spaced coaxial relationship with respect to one another in succession and thread guide elements helically distributed along the circumference of the false twist device. The thread guide elements extend into the space between the disks and are helically arranged along the circumference of the false twist device in such a manner that a yarn contacting the disks and guided by the thread guide elements contacts the false twist device along a helix, the helix angle or pitch of which decreases in the direction of travel of the yarn.

  • Patent number: 3955768
Abstract: Apparatus for producing waste wraps and thread reserve windings on a bobbin tube which is placed onto a rotating bobbin chuck and at a face side of which there is provided a thread catching zone. For the purpose of producing the waste wraps there is provided a first lever which is arranged to be pivotable with a delay and for producing the thread reserve wraps a second pivotable lever arranged axially offset with respect to the first lever as seen from the face side. Both levers are pivotable in such a manner that they are consecutively pivoted away by the thread caught by the rotating package tube and with different delays while wraps are wound beginning at the face side with the thread tending to move along a thread guide edge towards a central position.
